A body was found after police received a report of concern for the safety of a woman. Police confirmed officers were called to a wooded area close to Dam Wood Lane in Scarisbrick, just outside Southport, at around 10.07am on Saturday, August 17.
When police arrived at the scene, the body of a woman in her 50s was found and the area was cordoned off by Lancashire Police. Her death is being treated as non-suspicious and a file will be passed to the coroner.
A spokesperson said: “We were called to a concern for welfare in a wooded area close to Dam Wood Lane, Scarisbrick at around 10:07am on Saturday, August 17.
“Very sadly, the body of a woman in her 50s was found. Our thoughts are with her loved ones at this distressing time.
