Wayne Rooney calls it a ‘good debate’ while being joined by a Scouse star on his podcast.

Wayne Rooney was joined by Liverpool musician Jamie Webster on an episode of his podcast this week. Jamie, who is a Liverpool fan shared his thoughts on recent matches while the show lead to a number of musical revelations from Wayne.

The Wayne Rooney Show is a twice-weekly football podcast which sees Rooney team up with presenter Kelly Somers and comedian Kae Kurd to dive into the biggest stories from the Premier League and beyond.

Wayne shared details of the podcast online saying: “It’s a Liverpool v Man United special on the latest podcast. Big thank you to @jamiewebstermusic for coming on for a good debate, boss singer and great guest.

“Still think it might have been him who threw that phone at me at Anfield.”

A laughing emoji was included at the end of the post.

Jamie replied: “Nice one for havin me mate”.

During the podcast, the stars discuss recent Liverpool games and address the rivalry between Liverpool and Manchester United.

Jamie said: “Early on in the season we showed a bit of fight but over the last few weeks, I went to Crystal Palace and then Galatasaray and it seems like the fight was all done at he start of the season.”

Later on in the podcast conversation turns to a more general Liverpool/Manchester rivalry.

However the 31 year old singer said: “I think the closest person to a Scouser is a Manc. It’s just the dress sense and accent that’s different.

“I get a bit of grief off United fans when I meet them but then I play gigs at the Albert Hall and the Victoria Warehouse in Manchester and I get great receptions.”

Hinting at the rest of the episode, the BBC description says: “Musician and Liverpool fan Jamie Webster joins Wayne, Kelly and Kae to discuss why their rivalry with Manchester United is the biggest in English football. But who is this match more important for: Arne Slot or Ruben Amorim?
