“Trent Alexander-Arnold reflects on his family life and praises the ‘sacrifice’ made by his brothers.”

Trent Alexander-Arnold has praised the role of his brothers in shaping his career. It looks increasingly likely that the 26-year-old from West Derby will move from Liverpool to Real Madrid for free this summer.

The Liverpool defender has had an official offer on the table from the Spanish giants for a number of weeks. He has been free to agree a pre-contract agreement with any overseas club since January 1.

Alexander-Arnold’s other brother, Tyler, is his agent and a director at the PLG football agency. The firm represents the current Liverpool right-back as well as left-back Andy Robertson and former captain Jordan Henderson.

Away from the pitch, Alexander-Arnold has a close family network who could accompany him if he moves to the Spanish capital. In an article for The Player’s Tribune in August 2019, he admitted that he and his brothers drove his mum crazy due to their obsession with football.

He said: “My mum had this rule that we could go play wherever we wanted, as long as she could still see us — literally, with her own eyes. So the options were the front garden or the park across the way. But sometimes she’d lose sight of us because we’d be tearing around the back of the house with a ball made out of tinfoil or rolled-up socks.

“We used to drive her mad. You can picture it: she’s trying to make dinner, and then three lads in Liverpool kits come running around the corner, sliding into the kitchen for a 50-50.”

Alexander-Arnold went on to praise his two siblings for putting aside their own ambitions to ensure Alexander-Arnold had everything he had to make it at the highest level. He said: “As I got a bit older, and I moved up through the Liverpool academy, Tyler and Marcel willingly sacrificed their own dreams for mine.

“I think maybe we all realised at a young age that being a professional footballer was more realistic for me. And my parents did, too.

“That’s a hard thing for a young lad to understand. There were weekends when mum couldn’t take my brothers to their matches because I had to be at the academy at a certain time — and it was always them who made the sacrifice. To this day I’m so incredibly grateful to both of them.”

Alexander-Arnold participated in an advertising campaign last year alongside Marcell and his young daughter, Aura. In Marcell’s Instagram post recapping 2024, Alexander-Arnold was seen smiling with both of them in promotional pictures.

Marcell also shared a photo of himself with Aura at Anfield during a Liverpool game. In the caption, he wrote: “The marathon continues.” Many comments from Liverpool supporters encouraged Marcell to persuade his brother to remain on Merseyside.

Last year, there were rumours that Alexander-Arnold was dating model and actor Iris Law, the daughter of actor Jude Law. The couple was spotted walking together in Notting Hill, London, and participated in a modelling shoot for GUESS JEANS.

Iris was also seen in the stands for several of England’s Euro games, some of which featured Alexander-Arnold. She shared a picture of herself with a friend ahead of the final against Spain, wearing a Three Lions-themed t-shirt.

However, after their split last year, Alexander-Arnold began dating Estelle Behnke, a model and influencer with 55,000 followers on Instagram. The couple has been spotted together on several occasions over the past few months.

They travelled to Venice last month to celebrate New Year away from Merseyside and dined at the lavish Italian restaurant Regina Corner during their trip. The restaurant’s Instagram account shared a picture of the pair and expressed their gratitude for their visit.
