Ben Shephard has marked the end of summer by reflecting on the memories he has made with family and in his career. The TV presenter often shares updated to his social media accounts and offers a glimpse into this personal life away from the screen.
The Tipping Point star took to Instagram to share his memories with followers, from holidaying with his wife and children to filming a new series of ITV’s Tipping Point, it has been a busy couple of months for Ben.
On Instagram Ben said: “Last throws of summer! What a crazy few weeks we’ve had. Jack finished school for good – which makes us feel very old.
“We filmed series 15 of Tipping Point- oh how I’d missed our beloved cruel mistress of a machine, we had some brilliant if wet family time in Devon and celebrated Annie’s 50th birthday, (in my birthday year which I’m not happy about).”
The quiz show host started presenting the gameshow in 2012 and has been a regular on our screens ever since. Before Tipping Point, Ben also hosted other shows including the Krypton Factor from 2009 until 2010 and has hosted Ninja Warrior UK from 2015 until 2019.
Tipping Point has been on air since 2012, and remains among the most popular TV shows on our screens, alongside The Chase. The daytime show presented by Ben, sees contestants given the chance to play a large coin-drop machine. In order to do so, they must first answer a range of general knowledge questions across the course of various rounds.
Contestants who answer the fewest questions correctly and build up less money than others will leave the competition with nothing. The last contestant standing has an opportunity to win the machine’s £10,000 jackpot by answering questions correctly and dropping counters in the correct places to tip the winning counter over the edge.
While being the host of Tipping Point, Ben also appears as a presenter on This Morning sometimes. He embarked on a health journey on his own this year as he aimed to be “fit at 50”, undergoing a series of challenges and tough task on the lead up to the big occasion.
The TV star surpassed his own expectations and has remained fit and active, even after his birthday passed. Ben continued his reflective message on Instagram, telling people he was looking forward to the coming months.
He wrote: “Roll on the autumn, chunky knits, more golf and my mums 80th!!! Lots to look forward to including as usual a few challenges too!
“Let me know what you’ve got that’s gonna keep you motivated as the light goes, the weather wettens and the drinks get warmer!”
Ben married his wife Annie in a ceremony in Devon back in 2004. Annie runs an interior design website. The married couple have two children together, Sam, 19 and Jack 18.
