The Traitors star Charlotte Chilton has opened up about her financial struggles as a single mother after welcoming a baby girl, who she claims is fathered by Conor Maynard
Charlotte Chilton, known from The Traitors, has bravely shared her single mum struggles after welcoming a baby girl, who she claims is Conor Maynard’s child. The TV star admitted to going without to ensure her daughter, Penelope, has everything she needs and relies heavily on her support network. The mum of one previously alleged that pop singer Conor Maynard is her daughter’s father but has accused him of not being present in her life. The TV star candidly recounted how a fellow Traitors star introduced her to Conor, which led to her becoming a joyful mother to baby Penelope.
In a recent interview, Charlotte detailed the juggle between business and baby after launching her own recruitment firm. She told MailOnline: “You struggle financially to make ends start in a new business. You don’t take a salary very often in your first year – and I’m trying to do this whilst I’ve got a newborn baby – do you look after a newborn and do recruitment? It’s very difficult to manage.”
Charlotte also shared with the publication that her daughter has “everything she needs” as she goes “without so she can have these things”. The TV star added that her friends and family “break their backs” to offer their support, including helping to pay her bills and providing them a place to live as she saves money.
The former Traitors star took to social media on 18 October to announce the arrival of her daughter. She shared: “Princess Penelope has arrived and we have been enjoying our ‘Penelope bubble’ so much, I am going to be off the radar for a little longer, whilst I enjoy these magical moments with my precious girl!! Thank you to all that have checked in to make sure I am ok!! my heart is full.”
Speaking about her brief romance with Conor, Charlotte previously told The Sun: “We had a great night together and even sent Harry a selfie of us in bed saying, ‘Successful match’. We kept in touch, confided in each other and planned to meet up. But after I told him I was pregnant that apparently decent man changed.
“He turned on me, I felt pressured into keeping his identity as the father a secret. He told me, ‘I’m not ready to be a dad. It’s nothing against you, Charlotte, but even if we’d been together three years, I would be the exact same. I do not want to have a child. That’s why I haven’t got a dog’.”
Charlotte claims that Conor has yet to meet their bundle of joy, apparently ghosting her and not recognising Penelope as his child.
