One of them has promised fans to expect fireworks
The much-anticipated Married At First Sight UK reunion special is all set for some explosive updates.
Cast members are braced to revisit their on-show battles in the eagerly awaited episode that will air on E4 at 9pm on Monday (February 24). Fans who can’t tune in live will have the chance to catch all the drama on demand via the Channel 4 app. Although filmed last October, the juicy details have been shrouded in mystery until now, reports Wales Online.
Among the returnees are Nathan Campbell and his former match, Lacey Martin. Nathan told Yahoo what viewers should anticipate, saying: “There are some major revelations, a lot of them spilled the tea! Things came to light that had everyone gasping. MAFS old and new faces were in the same room, and there were fireworks! I can’t say too much, but if you thought the series was dramatic, viewers should buckle up for this reunion.”
But the question on everyone’s lips is: What’s the current status of Nathan and Lacey, why did they part ways, and what fresh drama has unfolded since? Here’s what you need to know.

Why did Nathan and Lacey split?
Well, it seems the ex-couple aren’t exactly on the same page regarding their split. While there were communication issues, partly attributed to Nathan’s ADHD, fans clung to the hope the pair would go the distance after professing their love during their final televised date.
After the curtains closed on their TV romance, Nathan revealed that he and his on-screen wife had parted ways due to wanting different paths in life. He opened up, saying: “I went on the show to find love, and sometimes things don’t work out, but everything happens for a reason, and I’m so grateful for the time we shared together. Whilst I was hugely disappointed by the break-up, and heartbroken, I respected her decision to part ways and I have nothing but love and good wishes for her.”
He continued to express his feelings, adding: “I wouldn’t have changed anything on the show, and despite what happened behind the scenes, I would still have chosen Lacey to be my bride, and I have nothing but respect and love for her.”
However, Lacey tells a different story, claiming their split followed an argument sparked by her participation in the Race for Life event, which she joined in memory of her late uncle and to support her mother. She recounts reaching out to Nathan for support, but claims she was then blocked by him on social media.
Lacey has since expressed her heartbreak, stating: “I did try and make Nathan realise that when I’ve tried to reach out, like, even the strongest couples argue, you know, but to completely withdraw and block me has broke my heart because despite our relationship, we had a good friendship and I just felt like I didn’t deserve how he treated me.”
Why Nathan promises fireworks
The latest gossip teases more tension ahead as previews of the reunion episode suggest Nathan has accused Lacey of seeking a ‘showmance’ and claims she showed her true colours away from the camera’s gaze.
In yet-to-be-aired scenes, Nathan confronts her, saying: “So you didn’t say to me then, ‘I think we should fake it?'” He also reveals his sadness over the message. Lacey interjects, accusing him of pretending to love her.
Lacey had previously hinted at a showmance in an earlier interview. According to Yahoo, she questioned: “It does make me question if the whole thing was fake on his part. I was just like, ‘why do you care about how you’re looking?’ I feel like he just lacked passion for me and passion for our relationship.

Where are they now?
Nathan appears to be relishing his post-MAFS life and fame. He’s been sharing snaps of himself soaking up the sun in Dubai, and even participated in a charity football match there. Fellow cast member Adam Nightingale joined him, captioning a post of them both with the hashtags #divorced and #single.
Lacey, on the other hand, continues to stay active on social media, regularly posting her daily outfits. Her most recent post seems to carry a cryptic message possibly reflecting her current situation.
The caption reads: “You never look good trying to make someone look bad” followed by the hashtags #positivevibes, #selflove and #girlsnight.
