The Masked Singer’s Pegasus unmasked as fans say ‘easiest one yet’

The Masked Singer UK’s Pegasus has become the second celebrity to be unmasked after the celebrity judges failed to guess who was hiding behind the costume – but fans said it was ‘easy.

The Masked Singer’s Pegasus was the second star to be shown the door on the popular ITV show this weekend. Prue Leith was unveiled as the celebrity behind the mask during Sunday’s (January 5) episode, which also saw Good Morning Britain’s Kate Garraway revealed as Spaghetti Bolognese after Saturday night’s cliffhanger ending.

The panel, featuring Maya Jama, Mo Gilligan, Davina McCall and Jonathan Ross, returned with special guest Vicky McClure, all trying to figure out the identities of the celebs in the extravagant costumes. Bush, Pufferfish, Pegasus, Wolf, Toad in the Hole and Bear made their series debut, but it was Pegasus and Bush who failed to win over the studio audience, landing them in the bottom two.

After the celebrity detectives saved Bush, Pegasus had no choice but to remove their mask. Before the big reveal, the panel shared their guesses: Mo thought Jane Seymour OBE, David guessed Elizabeth McGovern, Vicky suggested Clare Balding, Jonathan believed it was Prue Leith and Maya proposed Joanna Lumley.

However, it turned out that Jonathan was the judge who was correct, as Prue was the one donning the mythical creature costume.

After Prue’s unmasking, fans took to X to share their thoughts, with comments like: “#maskedsingeruk probably the easiest one ever.”, reports the Mirror.

Others echoed the sentiment: “Yes it was prue a judge from bake off #MaskedSingerUK.” Some celebrated their successful guesswork: “I knew it! PRUE LEITH. I got one right ! ! ” Another viewer also expressed their triumph: “Got it right.”

Prior to Pegasus’ unveiling, Good Morning Britain’s Kate had fans in stitches when she was revealed as Spag Bal – admitting to host Joel Dommett: “I can’t sing and I kept telling them that and they kept saying ‘it doesn’t matter’.”

She also confessed that her kids Darcey and Billy Draper were kept in the dark about her participation in the show, believing she was “doing something for charity”.

Meanwhile, contestants Bush, Wolf, Toad in the Hole, Bear, Teeth, Dressed Crab, Kingfisher, Snail and Tattoo remain in the running to win the coveted 2025 series title.

When it comes to the other contestants, many are convinced they’ve worked out the identity of Bush, after a major show ‘leak’. It comes after the singer dropped a hint that he had been offered the role of Bush, which has been re-discovered on a fan page.

The theory has been sparked after fans dug up information from a Wiki fan page dedicated to the show. A recent Reddit thread saw fans sharing a link to the page, which hinted that Bush might be a McFly member, reports the Express.

The page revealed: “On an episode of The Voice UK, Danny Jones stated that he was given the choice between a Piranha and a Bush.” With Danny having already triumphed as Piranha, it’s led fans to wonder if Harry Judd or another bandmate could be behind Bush’s mask.

One excited fan speculated: “It could be another member of McFly such as Harry Judd or maybe a boy band member such as MATT WILLIS.” Another is convinced it could be Tom Fletcher as they commented: “It just looks like him. I don’t know how to explain.”
