Vanessa Kirby has given birth to her first child with fiancé Paul Rabil. The 37 year old The Crown star, famed for her role as Princess Margaret, and Rabil, a former professional lacrosse player turned sports executive, announced the happy news over the weekend on Rabil’s Instagram, with a series of snaps that showcase the couple in the early days of parenthood.
Sharing his thoughts on fatherhood, Rabil penned: “I’m learning that becoming a parent slows you down and wakes you up at the same time. I’m really grateful for everyone’s health, that I get to wake up every day to mum’s enormous love, and that we get to have you in our lives now.”
In a nod to his lacrosse exploits, the 39-year-old sports executive added: “For your first cradle stick. It’ll hold many stories and blessings. Likely broken windows too. Balls are allowed in the house.” The couple are yet to reveal the name or gender of their baby, reports the Mirror.
Vanessa had revealed she was expecting while attending the Mexico City premiere of Fantastic Four: First Steps back in June. The actress showcased her growing bump in a stunning metallic blue and green halter neck dress on the red carpet.
Posting pictures on Instagram, she penned: “Mexico, we loved you! Gracias – we had the best time, you were amazing to us. I learnt so much from Sue Storm about being a first-time mother in the film.
“Very grateful and surreal to be on this journey with her, as I’m now about to become one myself. Thank you to everyone for the beautiful love and support. It means the world to me. And thank you as always.”
Vanessa told Entertainment Tonight: “It was a daunting journey because (Storm) really is a working mother, a working superhero mother.
“She was pregnant for half the movie, she gives birth, and I guess something that she really taught me that I didn’t fully know is that you can do everything. You can have it all. She gave me a lot of confidence in that.”
Vanessa filmed scenes for the movie with real babies and “got really attached to them”. The Mission: Impossible actress said: “100 per cent of the film was shot with a real baby.
“Our lead baby, Ada, a little girl, was just heaven. We had lots of other babies who were acting with us and helping us. We got really attached to them, and they were so part of our journey. It almost became weird if they weren’t there.”
Vanessa became engaged to Rabil in 2024, after the pair initially sparked romance speculation in October 2022.
They made their relationship Instagram official in November 2023 when Paul shared a photograph on his profile.
Alongside an image of the couple, he wrote: “From the very minute we first met in Des Moines, around the world and back, life is far better, more purposeful and more beautiful with you.”
