Strictly’s Tasha Ghouri ‘Can’t Believe It’ as She Shares Exciting New Show Update

Tasha Ghouri and Aljaz Skorjanec made it to the final of last year's Strictly Come Dancing

Strictly Come Dancing’s Tasha Ghouri is “excited” for the next series of the hit dancing show. The former Love Island star proved her talent for ballroom dancing when she made it to the final of last year’s Strictly Come Dancing alongside her professional dance partner Aljaž Škorjanec.

The 26-year-old lost out on the iconic glitterball trophy to West Derby-born comedian Chris McCausland and his partner Dianne Buswell.

Tasha is deaf and was the show’s second deaf contestant, after Rose Ayling-Ellis. Tasha has a cochlear implant to help her hearing. This is a hearing aid hooked over the ear and connects to an electrode which picks sound up.

Tasha has made several other appearances on our screens including in Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins and The Weakest Link. She has recently released her own book called “Your Superpower” and regularly keeps her fans updated on her life away from the cameras to her 1.4m Instagram followers.

In a recent post on social media, Tasha shared her disbelief that it has been a whole year since she was preparing to set foot in the Strictly ballroom for the first time.

Sharing a flashback snap to her time on the dancing show, the TV star wrote: “How has it been a year already?! So excited to see the line up this year and new magic” with a love heart emoji.

Although it feels like we have just said goodbye to last year’s contestants, a whole host of new celebrities will be getting glitzed and glammed ready to take to the ballroom next month.

Claudia Winkleman will return as co-host for the 2025 series alongside Tess Daly. Craig Revel Horwood, Shirley Ballas, Anton Du Beke, and Motsi Mabuse will be dusting off their paddles as part of the iconic judging panel.

There has been no official announcement about which celebrities will be taking part, but the list of talented professional dancers has been announced.

It has recently been confirmed that two new professional dancers have joined the line-up for the new series. Alexis Warr and Julian Caillon will be paired up with two celebrities as the show gets underway later this year.

Strictly fans were disappointed earlier this week when Gorka Marquez, who has been a key part of the show for almost a decade, announced he will not be dancing with a celebrity for the upcoming series.

The Spanish professional dancer explained he will not be able to commit to having a celebrity partner due to other work commitments. Gorka will be a judge on the second series of “Bailando con las estrellas” which is the Spanish version of Strictly Come Dancing.

Despite not having a celebrity to dance with each week on the English version, he will still appear on our screens as a part of the show-stopping group routines.

The 34-year-old shared a post on Instagram as he said: “I am happy to announce that I will be back for season two of BAILANDO CON LAS ESTRELLAS as a judge from September.

“Due to the filming dates this means that I won’t be competing with a partner this year in Strictly but I will be a part of lots of the group numbers and will be back for final weeks of the show to support the rest of my fellow pros and their celebrities in what is going to be an AMAZING SERIES. As always thank you for all the love and support and remember! Keep dancing!!!”

Gorka’s co-stars rushed to show their support. Karen Hauer said: “Congratulations little man!! Hit it hard.” Johannes Radebe said: “Congrats Papi.” Tasha Ghouri said: “Congratulations Gorka!!!”
