Ola Jordan has spoken about a “chaotic” summer her and the rest of the family have experienced. The former Strictly Come Dancing star is married to another former Strictly star, James Jordan.
The dancer turned professional in 2000 with wife Ola Jordan and both appeared on Strictly Come Dancing. The former BBC dance show star competed on the the competition from 2006 until 2013. At the time of his departure, the BBC stated that they wanted James to carry on in a reduced role but he would not have a celebrity partner.
James declined the offer and left the BBC dance show, while Ola remained on the programme for another two years. Despite not being on our screens as regularly anymore, James and Ola do have a social media presence and each have a large following of more than 250,000 people.
On Instagram yesterday, Ola shared a photo of her husband and daughter, she wrote: “We can’t believe that daddy is gone for seven weeks now.
“We will miss you! You going to be amazing @legendsdancefloor and we can’t wait to see you dance @JamesJordan1978.” They have one child together, a four-year-old daughter named Ella.
In a separate social media post uploaded this morning, September 3, the dancer shared photos from the summer holidays as she wrote: “Can’t believe the school holidays are over. Despite moving house, living in a sea of boxes, and forgetting what day it is… we somehow survived.
“Ella has been an absolute champion. Entertaining herself while mummy and daddy played professional furniture movers!!! (never again).”
Ola added: “Life’s definitely been chaotic, messy but we made it! Here’s to returning to a routine of early mornings, cold days and praying that the school shoes still fit.”
James replied to the sweet photos of Ella and wrote “my beautiful little girl”, alongside a red love heart emoji. Fans of the dancers also shared supportive messages.
One reply said: “We are about to do the house move bit on Friday. Well done for surviving Ella is a great girl, a credit to you both x” A second said “born to be a star” as a video of Ella was uploaded.
Others wrote: “Fab pics, looks like she has had a fab hol, mammy can get back to routine now enjoy” and “Born for the stage…like mummy and daddy.”
An online show following the family called “At Home With James & Ola” aired last year which showed an insight into their family life. James had a surgery in February, which the family spoke about.
James said: “In 2017 I had an inguinal hernia on both sides, had the repair done on the left hand side and basically it came back. I had to go in and get it repaired, unfortunately when they opened me up it was a little bit more complicated than what they realised.”
James read out a doctor letter which said he needs a minimum of eight weeks’ rest, admitting that the pain has been “bad at times”. An inguinal hernia is a bulge in the groin that occurs when tissue or part of the bowel pushes through a weak spot in the abdominal muscles.
