“Strictly’s Dianne Buswell addresses rumours about her engagement to Joe Sugg.”

Strictly Come Dancing’s Dianne Buswell had a bit of an awkward moment on Good Morning Britain when Susanna Reid brought up the engagement buzz that’s been swirling around.

The pro dancer, who’s been loved-up with Joe Sugg since 2018, was there to chat about her tour with Vito Coppola but ended up explaining why she was spotted with a ring that got everyone talking.

Dianne couldn’t help but let out a scream before spilling the beans. She confessed: “It’s a really funny story! I was in Australia and it’s quite hot over there. I had just flown in and my fingers get a little bit swollen on the plane.

“So, I had a couple of rings on my right hand, which I do. But, because they were swollen, I had to take them off, and I put them on my left hand.”

Dianne didn’t realise that swapping her rings to her left hand would cause such a stir, unaware that’s the hand you put an engagement ring on.

She clarified with a laugh: “I’m taking pictures with my family and I put them online so everyone thought I was engaged. I’m not engaged.”

Ed Balls, joining in on the fun, feigned shock and called out to her beau. He said: “Joseph, what are you doing? What’s he doing, seriously?”

Dianne responded with a playful: “I know! Joe!” as they both chuckled over the accidental faux pas, reports Wales Online.

BBC viewers first saw Dianne and Joe during their 2018 Strictly Come Dancing stint, where they wowed the crowd to become fan favourites and ultimately finished second, just behind Stacey Dooley and Kevin Clifton.

The romance sparked on the dance-floor, and by the end of 2018, the pair went Instagram official with an adorable snap.

Looking absolutely dapper in the picture, Joe lovingly gazed at Dianne as he sweetly captioned it: “I may not have won the glitter ball, but I’ve won something a million times more special.”
