Stacey Dooley has shared another glimpse of her Merseyside home as she prepares for Christmas with her family. The documentary maker lives with her partner Kevin Clifton and their daughter Minnie.
The couple have previously spoken about their love for the property, and how it only took one viewing for them to make the decision to move. The move was significant for the family as it meant they could be closer to Stacey’s mum and Minnie’s nan, who lives on Merseyside.
In a post uploaded to Instagram yesterday, Stacey shared a picture of her new kitchen and wrote: “Just waiting on the last few bits and then we have a stunz kitchen ready for Xmas baby.”
The house has been in a renovation process for over a year as the couple decorate to their tastes. The kitchen has been praised by friends, calling it “beautiful” and commenting on how spacious it is.
Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two host, Janette Manrara commented “Stop it right now! Stunning” and Strictly Come Dancing presenter, Tess Daly, shared: “Love” with two love heart-eye emojis.
Other comments included: “Dreamy! It’s looking the part! That island” and “Love it! Love the size and those lights!” Speaking about their house, Kevin told the Liverpool ECHO: “Stacey loves looking at houses on the internet. Looking at interiors and stuff is her favourite thing to do.
“She just happened to have seen something she liked and thought ‘oh it’s not too far away from my mum’. We went and had a look and the second she walked in was like ‘I love it and I can really see us living here’. It all happened really quickly and we love it.”
Since her move to Liverpool, Stacey has praised the people of Liverpool and referred to herself as an “honorary Scouser” after friendly encounters in the city.
Stacey told followers about a kind gesture she had experienced after a show in Liverpool. In a video she said: “I’ve just finished in a gig in Liverpool and I am so touched by this, so I was speaking to this guy called Jimmy and he had this Liver Bird [badge] on his jacket, I think they’re called Bertie and Bella.
“We were just talking about the city in general and then he took this [badge] off and give me it. He said ‘you’re a Scouser now so you can have this’. And this is what day-to-day interactions are like in this city. I know I am like a broken record but isn’t that just so lovely? I’m made up with that.”
Stacey has embraced life in Liverpool over the last couple of years, she opened up on why the move was perfect for her and Kevin. On the Parenting Hell podcast hosted by comics Rob Beckett and Josh Widdicombe, she shared: “She’s [mum] really hands-on and if she wasn’t on the scene, and I appreciate this isn’t always the way for many people, I think I would really struggle. I don’t think I’d be able to work actually.”
“[It was] A mixture of reasons but primarily, she’s our nanny. And I wanted the baby close to her nan and it’s a lovely relationship to nurture. The pair of them are thick as thieves. I don’t really exist when my mum’s around. I’m doing the house up. I bought this really beautiful house but it’s so old, it’s on its last legs.”
