Strictly Come Dancing star receives overwhelming support after sharing new project.

Amy Dowden has received an outpouring of love from her fans after she announced the cover reveal for her new book.

The 34-year-old Strictly Come Dancing professional was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2023 but thankfully got the all-clear last year.

She bravely faced chemotherapy and a mastectomy and took a break from Strictly in 2023 before bouncing back to write her poignant memoir, Dancing in the Rain.

In her deeply personal book, Amy shares her emotional ordeal and aims to offer hope and strength to others facing their own battles.

In the heartwarming post about her upcoming paperback release, Amy wrote: “So guys, here it is, the day I’ve been waiting for…the reveal of the cover to my book, Dancing in the Rain, paperback edition.

“I hope my personal story can be inspirational for anyone facing challenges, big or small and if that is you, that it helps you to find the courage to rise up and meet them.

“PRE-ORDER the paperback edition now using the link in my bio, ready for its release on 28th August. I hope you like the new cover as much as I do.”

Her followers swarmed her comments section with messages of support, with one fan sharing their own struggle, reports the Express.

They wrote: “I’m currently battling stage 4 cancer so know what you went through. Will purchase as it might help me.”

Another person added their heart-warming message: “Amy, thank you for signing my hardback book when I met you in Liverpool. Good luck on strictly. Lots of love.”

A third fan expressed their admiration: “Still the most incredible & inspiring book I have ever read! so proud of you always gorgeous!!” Someone else praised: “Absolutely loved this book. So proud of you, Amy.”

Earlier this year, Amy received an MBE for her remarkable contribution to fundraising and raising awareness for inflammatory bowel disease.

Open about both her cancer journey and her ongoing struggle with Crohn’s disease, Amy has been a beacon of strength and transparency.

Reflecting on her MBE, she shared her feelings: “It’s really surreal, it’s been like an out-of-body experience but is it true honour to get an MBE and I will forever do what I can to raise awareness and fundraise for Crohn’s and colitis, and Crohn’s and Colitis UK charity, and also, recently as well for breast cancer – getting as many people as I possibly can to check themselves as earlier detection saves lives. It’s an incredible honour, and one that still hasn’t sunk in yet.”

Marianne Radcliffe, who leads the Crohn’s and Colitis UK charity, emphasised the impact of Amy’s work: “People never used to talk about Crohn’s or Colitis, but Amy has really helped to normalise conversations about these conditions by being open and honest, and adding some of her trademark sparkle.”
