Lilly Gerrard shared an update following an eventful week for her family. The 20 year-old is the daughter of Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard.
Though she grew up on Merseyside, Lilly spends much of her time away from the UK. She shares regular snaps from Dubai in the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain.
A reason why Lilly spends so much time in the Middle East is because her dad was managing Al-Ettifaq FC in Saudi Arabia. During his time working there, Alex and their four children have been based in Bahrain.
The Gulf nation is conveniently located near Damman, where Al-Ettifaq is headquartered. The Gerrards are said to reside in a luxurious villa in the Hamala village.
Lilly is a frequent visitor to Sushisamba, a restaurant found in Bahrain at the top of the prestigious Conrad Hotel. It offers a mix of Japanese, Brazilian, and Peruvian cuisine, with a terrace and pool overlooking the Manama seafront and Bahrain Bay.
Gerrard left Al-Ettifaq on Thursday (January 30) after two years in charge. Despite this, it appears that the Gerrard family are staying put in the Middle East for the time being. Lilly posted the first picture of the family together since the news of Gerrard’s departure.
Yesterday, Lilly shared a picture of herself along with her dad, her sister Lexie, mum Alex and nan Julie Ann Gerrard on her Instagram story. The five of them were smiling as they enjoyed the sunny weather.
Taking to Instagram after his departure from the club, Gerrard: “After careful consideration, the club and I have mutually agreed to part ways. This was not an easy decision, but sometimes in football, things don’t work out as planned. The Saudi Pro League is a tough and competitive league, and I have nothing but respect for the players and staff who give their all every day.
“I want to sincerely thank everyone at the club for their support and hard work. Football in Saudi Arabia is moving in the right direction, and I’ll always appreciate my time here. Wishing the team, and the fans nothing but success moving forward.”
Lilly Gerrard announced last month that her and partner Liam Byrne are expecting their first child together. She regularly shares updates from her life on her Instagram page and took to the social media platform to share a snap of the baby scan. She said: “Our little secret. The best news, mini us is on the way.”
