Stacey Solomon has thanked fans after their continuing support following the devastating news her dog Teddy is disabled. The TV star allows fans to have an insight into her everyday life through her social media pages and the recent fly-on-the-wall documentary following the life of her and husband Joe Swash, as well as their children and animals.

On Instagram today, October 14, the Sort Your Life Out star said: “Bath times are a very regular thing nowadays as Teddy can’t feel his bowels or bladder so we try to make it fun. Just wanted to take a moment to say… thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all of your kind words & prayers for Teddy over the last few weeks.

“It’s not easy caring for a disabled dog, BUT Teddy is the most patient, loving, strong little fur king who takes everything in his stride and makes our lives so much easier. He really is an angel on earth & we are so lucky to still have him in our lives.”

A video posted showed the fur of Teddy being shaped to correspond with the letters of the song L O V E by Michael Bublé. In April, Stacey revealed her pet dog had been taken to the vets for emergency treatment.

She shared a snap alongside the caption: “Our darling Teddy. Teddy became suddenly unwell on Thursday. It turns out he has a predisposed condition we had no idea about as he was a rescue.

“He has been operated on by incredible vets and the next 3-4 days are crucial for him to get through, even then, he might not ever fully recover.” A further update from the Loose Women panellist revealed Teddy will always need additional care. Stacey admitted “we are all truly devastated” after the operation.

She told followers that Teddy will never get the feeling back in his legs and will need the help of the family with urinating, assisted walks and physio forever. Stacey added that she is “confident” her and husband Joe Swash can give him the happiest life and all “the love” he deserves.

Stacey has two dogs named Teddy and Peanut, and five ducks. Teddy is a Cocker Spaniel, and Peanut is a Dachshund. She and her family also recently welcomed four new chicks to their home at Pickle Cottage.

Fans left supportive messages this afternoon after the sweet video. One response said: “He’s really beautiful and I’m so glad he lives with your lovely family who love him so much and take such good care of him.”

A second user said: “What a good doggy and doggy owner! My little girl loved this video” and a third wrote “This is adorable. We sobbed with you watching. It’s amazing how you’ve all given him so much patience, time and love to give him the best possible life.”

Further responses included “So lovely, you are showing and teaching your lovely children that life comes in all shapes and size and that disability doesn’t mean the end… it’s lovely to see” and “He is such a gorgeous boy and he absolutely adores you Stacey, thank you for looking after him and being so patient and kind.”
