Stacey Solomon has reportedly been nudging her husband, Joe Swash, to up his game when it comes to household organisation as they kick off the new year. This push for a more collaborative effort at home follows hot on the heels of their announcement of an upcoming TV documentary series that will give us a glimpse into their bustling family life with five kids.
Stacey, who’s become something of a tidying guru thanks to her hit show Sort Your Life Out, is keen for Joe to get on board with keeping their abode, affectionately named Pickle Cottage, spick and span. With a full plate managing work commitments, a brood of children, and pets, Stacey is all about minimising stress by getting their living space in tip-top shape. She’s a firm believer in the power of a neat and tidy home to help keep anxiety and that feeling of being overwhelmed at bay.
The couple’s latest resolution is all about bringing some calm and control into their lives, with a special focus on Joe stepping up his organisational game.
A source spilled the beans to Closer, saying the Loose Women star subscribes to the idea that ‘a messy house creates a messy mind’. They said: “She finds herself completely overwhelmed and anxious if things aren’t in order. She’s been ruthless this year at Pickle Cottage, completely decluttering the house from top to bottom. She’s been hoping that Joe will follow her lead and start trying to sort his life out at home, too,” reports the Mirror.
The insider revealed to Closer that Stacey can get quite frustrated when she sees Joe’s belongings scattered around the bedroom. Stacey, who’s recently teased about “big changes she’s always dreamed of,” is apparently laying down the law to get Joe to “get his act together,” the source disclosed.
On Friday 3 January, Stacey shared on Instagram that she had been sneakily cleaning up after Joe while he was working in panto. She cleaned the bottom of his wardrobe, organised his belts and scarves on a special hanger and showed all his hats neatly placed on hooks inside his wardrobe. She also revealed that the following day was her “day of dreams” while her children were with her sister. She was steaming the kids’ clothes ready for school next week while settling down in front of the TV to watch the serial killer series Dexter with a cup of tea.
