Homeware and garden enthusiasts looking for fresh ideas to revitalise their spaces this spring and summer might be inspired by Stacey Solomon and Mrs Hinch’s do-it-yourself home decoration tips. As seen in an episode of the BBC’s ‘Sort Your Life Out’, hosted by the mother-of-five, she demonstrated how viewers can create a charming “low cost” floral wreath to adorn their front door.

Stacey, admired by many for her practical cleaning hacks, decluttering methods, and savvy home styling advice, is also renowned for her adorable abode, lovingly dubbed Pickle Cottage. This cosy home that she shares with ex-EastEnders actor Joe Swash, often features on her social media, showcasing a tidy interior punctuated with seasonal decor and inspiring interior-lovers everywhere.

Flower wreaths are becoming increasingly favoured across homes in the UK, with plenty taking a leaf out of Stacey’s book by hanging them on their doors. At Asda, fans of the BBC personality can find her exclusive range of wreaths available for purchase, such as the Natural Dried Floral Wreath priced at £16.80 and the Green Foliage Wreath retailing for £15.40.

But for those who prefer to bypass synthetic materials and save some pennies, there’s always the option of handcrafting your own wreath using natural elements. Stacey Solomon, with a little assistance from her friend and fellow cleaning influencer, Mrs Hinch, has shared a method for crafting your own wreath using pampas grass and dried flowers.

In an episode of the BBC’s ‘Sort Your Life Out’ – now in its fifth season – the 35 year old mum demonstrated how to assemble a beautiful wreath on a budget, reports the Mirror. She begins by gathering pampas grass from outdoors, reminding viewers to seek permission before taking any, and then dries it using a hairdryer to enhance its fluffiness.

If you can’t find any pampas grass nearby, garden centres or online retailers like Amazon and The Range stock them. Next, she takes a wooden ring, pliers, and some wire – items that can be easily sourced from places like Hobbycraft and Amazon. She wraps the grass around the wooden ring using the wire, then trims off the excess stalks.

To add a pop of colour, she inserts small bunches of dried flowers into the wire. Finally, she sprays the wreath with hairspray to “keep the grass in one piece”.

The BBC shared the clip on Facebook, captioning it: “Make your own pampas grass wreath, just like Stacey and Mrs Hinch.” The post sparked a flurry of comments. Julia responded: “So creative.”

Carla chimed in: “Love that, may make one for my door.” Geraldine commented: “Beautiful. Rey cautioned: ” Rey warned: “Hairspray makes this very very combustible. Be careful.” Carly added: “That’s cute but I bet it would malt everywhere!”

Stacey appeared on BBC’s The One Show earlier this week, where she accidentally let slip the future of her show. The Sort Your Life Out host revealed that series six is in the works. She then asked her husband, Joe Swash: “Am I allowed to say that?”
