Sharon Osbourne has shared the devastating news that her dog has died. The former X Factor judge shared a moving post to Instagram last night. Uploading photos of the family pet, Elvis, to the social media platform, Sharon said: “I can’t believe I am posting this but my darling Elvis passed away this week.”

The TV star added: “He gave me 14 precious year. He was by my side until the end. Rest in peace my darling boy!” The heartbreaking news comes after the death of rock legend and Black Sabbath frontman, Ozzy Osbourne.

In July, the singer died aged 76 as his family paid a sad tribute. The Black Sabbath frontman had been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2019 and performed his final show in his hometown of Birmingham in July.

A statement from the family confirmed the death of Ozzy, it said: “It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time.”

As frontman of Black Sabbath, Ozzy was at the forefront of the heavy metal scene. At his funeral on July 30, family accompanied the rock legend’s coffin on an emotional final journey through his home city, watched on by thousands of fans who cheered and chanted his name.

“Our guardian angel has left us. Elvis did not leave my side since my dad passed. He helped get me through the darkest moment of my life. I keep trying to find a positive in all of this and the only thing I can come up with is that maybe my dad needed him.”

She added: “Life can be so cruel but also give you many treasures. We were so lucky to have Elvis for 14 years. Thank you for all the love Elvis you were on of a kind. I love you, sleep well sweet prince until we meet again.”

Last month, Sharon thanked fans for the “overwhelming” love and support she has experienced since her husband died. In a statement, she said: “I’m still having trouble finding the words to express how grateful I am for the overwhelming love and support you’ve shown on social media.

“Your comments, posts, and tributes have brought me more comfort than you know. None of it has gone unnoticed, in fact, it’s carried me through many nights.”

Sharon said: “Though I’m still finding my footing, I wanted to share some glorious creatures I had the chance to spend an afternoon with. The connection you make with these powerful birds is built entirely on trust and confidence.

“They’ll choose to perch on you only if they sense you are safe and unafraid of them. It’s a bond I know all too well, and the experience was nothing short of magical.”
