Selling Sunset star Emma Hernan has opened up about why she got back together with her on-off boyfriend Blake Davis.
The 33-year-old introduced Blake to her co-stars Chrishell Stause and Chelsea Lazkani during season nine, with Chrishell expressing reservations about the relationship.
Blake, 28, who also works in property, appeared besotted with the reality television personality. Despite him proposing to Emma, she subsequently called time on their romance.
However, the O Group estate agent has now confirmed she’s reunited with Blake, regardless of her friends’ misgivings.
Speaking to Tudum, she said: “If I really cared about making myself look good, I would’ve stayed broken up with him or would’ve said, ‘Nope, we’re not together.’
“But ultimately, with relationships, there’s back and forth – and I think that that’s OK to show.”
Explaining her decision to give the relationship another go, Emma added: “I had a realization at the reunion that I was [thinking too much] about what other people think.
“If I want to go spend time with this person, why am I so concerned about what everyone else is going to say? After the reunion, I went to go see him, and we’ve been traveling and been together ever since.”
At the reunion episode, Emma disclosed she’d been in touch with Blake again, reports the Mirror.
It also emerged that Emma had been dishonest with Chrishell about travelling to the Bahamas for Blake’s birthday, which has contributed to damaging their friendship.
The pair were attending a Beyoncé concert when Emma suddenly left.
Chrishell revealed: “You [Emma] told me that you were going to Boston to see your family and that’s why you had to leave early. That’s what you told me.”
She continued: “The next day she shows up in the Bahamas with Blake.”
The 44-year-old expressed her dislike for Blake, stating that his relationship with Emma causes her to “flake” on their friendship.
However, Chrishell’s disappointment didn’t stop there, as she also claimed that Blake holds problematic views.
In May, a fan asked Chrishell on Instagram: “What’s happening with you and Emma? Hot topic on Reddit.”
She replied: “Ask her about her MAGA bf who told me pronouns are dumb and that he likes to use the N word. I just can’t with that. Too old to allow that in.”
This social media comment sparked an online debate and press coverage which didn’t exactly portray Emma in a positive light.
During the season nine reunion, Chrishell elaborated on the post, alleging that Blake shared his views during a conversation in her kitchen.
“He told me proudly [that] he openly uses the N-word. He thinks that people W.H.O. don’t sing lyrics with all the words, he thinks they are the ones that are too woke,” she clarified.
Emma, who was present during the conversation, retorted: “He never said the word woke. He never said that.”
She further explained that Blake stated “he’s friends with a bunch of rappers and they try and get him to say it [the N-word] and he says no”.
Emma also contended that Chrishell’s post didn’t accurately reflect what Blake had said, insisting he never expressed any political opinions.
