Rylan Clark has some shared some family news on Instagram that has delighted friends and fans. The TV personality announced that his mum Linda Clark now has an Instagram account of her own.
Her first post, written by Rylan, said: “So we’ve finally done it. Linda is now on Instagram. @LindaClark Bear with as she gets used to it but give her a follow if you want. Can’t believe this is happening.” Rylan regularly shares his close bond with his mum on social media and in interviews.
The two often go on holiday together, last year he shared photos of them together as they travelled to Marbella.
After the news of her new social media account, plenty of comments were left from people excited by Linda’s Instagram presence. Gogglebox star Scarlett Moffatt left five clapping hands emojis.
X Factor singer Christopher Maloney commented: “Hysterical….love our Lind”, with heart-eyed emojis and This Morning presenter Josie Gibson posted “the moment we’ve all been waiting for!”
A fan of Rylan and his mum wrote: “That should be the LEGEND LINDA CLARK” and another fan agreed with Josie, echoing “Ace it’s what Instagram has been waiting for.”
A further response was “Rightly so, we all need a bit of Linda in our lives” and others wrote “Excited for what’s to come” and “Following, been waiting for this forever.”
Linda also has a fanbase of her own as she appears on her son’s Saturday afternoon show and joins him on the sofa for Celebrity Gogglebox. She has since shared her first proper post, yesterday a photo holding a glass of wine and smiling was captioned “Hello Instagram.”
Rylan has had a busy couple of months, earlier this week he announced that he would be starring in a movie.
He shared a clip to social media and wrote: “MAJORLY excited to share that I’ll be playing VANITY Smurf in the new Smurfs Movie released July 18th here in the UK….. off to check my hat.”
Last month, Rylan became emotional when he won a TV BAFTA for Rob And Rylan’s Grand Tour as he revealed how working on the show had helped him to come to terms with his divorce.
The two took home the Factual Entertainment prize for their hit BBC travel show at the annual awards ceremony, which took place on Sunday at London’s Royal Festival Hall.
After accepting the award, he spoke candidly, saying: “For me, the show, it happened at a really weird time for me like I still wasn’t fully over sort of the breakdown of my marriage and was flung with the judge.
“It was the best therapy I needed, put it that way. I think the journey, and I hate that word in telly but its so true, when you watch our series, that journey from when we meet to sort of how raw especially I was at that time.”
