Ruth Langsford has reportedly told pals she won’t be jumping back into the dating pool until her divorce from Eamonn Holmes is finalised. The couple, who were married for 14 years, shocked fans with their split announcement last year.
Despite Eamonn, 65, moving on with Katie Alexander, who is 22 years his junior, Loose Women star Ruth isn’t ready for a new romance and “just wants out” of her marriage, the insider revealed. “She’s still wearing her wedding ring because she’s coming to terms with a long relationship ending, and realising Eamonn maybe wasn’t the person she thought he was,” the source claimed to New.

“And she’s also coming to terms with life being very, very different for her going forward. Ruth has been having fun going out with her girlfriends, and enjoying a little flirt, but that’s it. She really needs the Eamonn chapter to be fully closed before she can move on romantically, she needs her freedom.
“She really isn’t dating, it’s the last thing she wants to do,” the source continued. “She just wants to get the divorce over and done with. Her friends would love to see her happy with someone else, but she needs to get the divorce over with first before she can properly move on.”
The former This Morning duo, who share a 22-year-old son Jack, released a rather straightforward statement last May, stating: “Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes have confirmed their marriage is over and they are in the process of divorcing,” but didn’t provide any further details on what led to the decision.
However, a source claimed last week that Ruth, 65, was left “totally horrified” when she found out Eamonn had been “sharing intimate chats with another woman” while they were still married and living together in their London home.
The source told The Sun On Sunday that Ruth discovered incriminating messages on her husband’s personal laptop. They claimed these messages were “the straw that broke the camel’s back” and led to the split shortly after.
Last September, Eamonn was seen embarking on a Mediterranean cruise with relationship counsellor Katie, before they made a public appearance together at a major awards event two months later, which some interpreted as a soft launch of their relationship.
Ruth, on the other hand, hasn’t been romantically linked with anyone since the separation. Our insider suggests it’s because she needs a complete fresh start away from Eamonn.

“They’re both hoping the divorce goes smoothly and quickly, but they’ve been together a long time so there’s a lot of finances to work out,” they shared with us. “Ruth just wants a fair split and for it to be done with. She just wants out.”
Ruth, who’s undergone a bit of a transformation since her marriage ended, clapped back at a follower on social media last year after they questioned why she was still sporting her wedding ring.
She had shared a clip of herself making a green smoothie when a fan commented, “Why has she still got her wedding rings on?” Ruth’s response was clear-cut: “Because I’m still married.”
The duo, known for co-hosting This Morning on Fridays for 14 years until their departure in 2020, began their romance back in 1997. By then, Eamonn had already parted ways with his first wife Gabrielle, with whom he shares three children.
Their son Jack arrived in 2002, and the couple tied the knot in June 2010, shortly after Eamonn popped the question. With such a shared history, it’s understandable that Ruth recently confessed she’s still processing the split.
“I’m not delighted my marriage is over but I’ve accepted that my marriage is over, so I am trying to now embrace the fact that I’m single and can make choices that are just about me,” she revealed to Woman & Home.
A glance at Ruth’s social media shows she’s certainly embracing her newfound independence. Just last month, she rang in her 65th birthday in style, celebrating with friends at a luxurious all-inclusive resort in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
Ruth Langsford has been living it up on a girls’ getaway with her mates, including TV’s Lucy Alexander. She gushed on social media: “Sun, sea, sand, MANY cocktails and laughing until we cried! Perfect. Wonderful accommodation, beautiful beaches, fabulous restaurants, great spa and, as much as I love them, no children! !” But despite the fun in the sun, insiders tell us Ruth won’t be entertaining any romantic interests until her divorce is finalised.
