Robbie Williams has left fans worried after sharing some deeply personal thoughts during a late-night Instagram session. The 51-year-old pop legend took to Instagram in the early hours of Monday morning, wrestling with a persistent thought that “won’t let him sleep”.
The singer is often on social media, posting funny videos of himself or kind shout-outs to fans, but in a moment of raw honesty, Robbie posted three pages of introspective notes on Instagram.
Revealing he’s “surviving his own personality”, his heartfelt message stated: “Some days it’s not self-improvement. It’s self-containment. Just making sure the chaos doesn’t spill on the carpet.”
Pouring his thoughts onto the page, the singer expressed that he was keen to “know himself completely” and understand his own thinking patterns, reports the Mirror.
In a particularly worrying remark, he confessed: “Seeing as I have something inside me that wants to sabotage, cause chaos – and, even darker still, see me leave this planet.”

His introspective journey didn’t end there; Robbie reflected on the “hellish” aspect of life’s lessons and whether he measures up for “the next place”. He wrapped up with a frank acknowledgment: “First thing I notice: I treat myself really badly. If anything, right now, I guess the answer is love. And with that… I’ve just had a revelation. I’ve got some work to do.”
Robbie’s 3.3 million Instagram followers were out in force to support him, with many writing lengthy replies encouraging him towards self-love and reflecting on their own journeys.
One fan commented: “You wrote a song Love My Life, Rob you need this as your mantra you have to love yourself cause you are beautiful, praise yourself, compliment yourself and a change will start to happen those wolves will quieten and not appear as often love starts with you believe in it and yourself.”
Others expressed worry and offered heartfelt advice, with one commenting: “What a deep thinking, Rob. Making me worried about you,” and another saying: “Please learn to love yourself. You have done so much in your life what you can be proud of!”

This outpouring of support comes after Robbie revealed he’s been struggling with depression again, telling The Mirror: “The year started with some ill mental health, which I haven’t had for a very, very long time. I was sad, I was anxious, I was depressed.”
He admitted being puzzled by the return of his mental health issues, saying: “It’s been about 10 years… I thought I was at the other end of the arc. I thought this was the end of my story, and that I would just go walking into this marvellous wonderland. So for it to return was just confusing.”
The return of these challenges coincides with his recent family tribulations; in November, Robbie shared the news of his mother Janet’s dementia diagnosis, which follows his father Pete’s Parkinson’s diagnosis four years prior.
