Rashida Jones, known for her role in Black Mirror, is making waves with her standout performance in the first episode of season 7, titled Common People.

In the chilling series, Rashida takes on the role of Amanda, starring alongside Chris O’Dowd’s character Mike and Tracee Ellis Ross’ Gaynor.

Rashida Jones is no stranger to the sitcom world, having made her mark in The Office (US) and Parks and Recreation.

In The Office, she played the unforgettable Karen Filippelli in season 3, leaving a lasting impact on viewers, reports the Mirror.

But it’s perhaps her role as Ann Perkins in Parks and Rec, best friend to Pawnee government worker Leslie Knope (Amy Poehler), that fans hold dearest.

Fans of Angie Tribeca will also recognise Rashida from her lead role in the TBS detective comedy.

Beyond TV, Rashida has showcased her talent in big-name films like The Social Network, The Muppets, I Love You, Man and Celeste and Jesse Forever.

Rashida Jones’ love life off-screen

Rashida Jones has been keeping her love life sweet and low-key, having been in a relationship with musician Ezra Koenig for almost a decade. The couple even welcomed their little bundle of joy, Isaiah, into the world in 2018.

The Parks and Recreation star cleared up some whispers about her and Ezra during a chat with The New Yorker in July 2024, where she shared: “We’re not married. We just kind of call each other that. But we are what we are, in the eyes of God! I’m sure we’ll get married at some point.”

Before Ezra entered the scene, Rashida’s heart was once charmed by Tobey Maguire, the Spider-Man actor, as Empire reports they were an item for three years until parting ways in 2000.

The magazine also reveals that Rashida got engaged to the Grammy-winning music producer Mark Ronson in February 2003, but the pair called it quits about a year later.

When it comes to family fame, Rashida Jones hails from Hollywood royalty she’s the daughter of the late music legend Quincy Jones and the late famous actress and model Peggy Lipton.

Peggy won hearts over as the free-spirited Julie Barnes on The Mod Squad from 1968 to 1973 and was honoured with a Golden Globe in 1970 for her captivating role.

She also graced Twin Peaks as Norma Jennings, much to the delight of fans of David Lynch’s cult classic. Peggy died in 2019 at the age of 72 after bravely battling cancer since 2004.

Quincy, who sadly died last November at the age of 91, was a ‘true’ titan in the music world.

His glittering career spanned an impressive seven decades, during which he bagged himself a whopping 28 Grammy Awards, a Primetime Emmy Award, and even a Tony Award.

He’s the genius behind some of the biggest tunes in history, including Michael Jackson’s iconic ‘Billie Jean’, USA for Africa’s anthem ‘We Are the World’, and Lesley Gore’s banger ‘It’s My Party’.

The pair leave behind their daughter Rashida and her six siblings: Jolie, Rachel, Martina, Quincy Jones III, Kidada and Kenya.
