The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have issued a major update regarding their partnership with Netflix. The royal couple have signed a fresh “multi-year, first look deal for film and television projects” with the streaming giant

Half a decade on from their departure as senior working royals in 2020, Prince Harry and Meghan have renewed what is believed to be a more than 100 million dollar (£74 million) agreement with the streaming service. Describing the updated first look deal, the Sussexes referred to it as “extending their creative partnership”.

Meghan said: “We’re proud to extend our partnership with Netflix and expand our work together to include the As ever brand.

“My husband and I feel inspired by our partners who work closely with us and our Archewell Productions team to create thoughtful content across genres that resonates globally, and celebrates our shared vision.”

Their controversial docuseries, Harry & Meghan, in which they were highly critical of the Royal Family, has been among the streaming platform’s most watched documentary of all time with 23.4 million views.

However, other projects, such as Harry’s series on Polo, have failed to bring in anywhere near the same viewers.

Their forthcoming ventures will feature a second series of the duchess’s With Love Meghan lifestyle programme later this month, along with a festive Christmas special come December.

Archewell Productions is also developing Masaka Kids, A Rhythm Within – a documentary spotlighting orphans in Uganda’s Masaka region still grappling with the HIV/Aids crisis aftermath.
