Peter Crouch has given an insight into his relationship with Abbey Clancy, revealing that his wife has made him feel “self-conscious.”
Peter and Abbey first met in 2006, a year after the former footballer signed with Liverpool. Since then, the couple have tied the knot and welcomed four children together: Sophia, Liberty, Johnny, and Jack.
Now, nearly 20 years after they first met, Peter has shared a glimpse into their marriage, admitting that Abbey has made him feel “self-conscious” about one particular habit.
While discussing Peter’s laugh on their Therapy Crouch podcast, Abbey told listeners that a friend had pointed out a quirky trait: “Your tongue sticks out and your chin vanishes” whenever Peter finds something funny.

Peter quickly responded by asking, “What am I supposed to do?” and added, “You’re making me self-conscious about laughing now.”
Earlier in the episode, Peter revealed he had overheard Abbey talking to her friend about his laugh: “I even noticed we were round the house the other day, and I laughed uncontrollably like I do quite often, and I heard her go to Lucinda, ‘Look at the state of his tongue.’”
Although the pair eventually moved on to other topics, Peter’s laugh came up again when he burst into hysterics—prompting Abbey to again point out his sticking-out tongue.

Peter replied: “You’re going to make me f*****g miserable. Would you rather me miserable? You know, one of them old fellas who just sits in a chair and grumbles all day. That’s going to be me.”
Meanwhile, in another recent episode of Therapy Crouch, Abbey revealed that some people around her had doubted the longevity of their relationship when they first got together.
In response, Peter joked that he could understand the scepticism, saying: “Well, I’m out of your league, aren’t I?”

Since beginning their relationship in Liverpool, Peter and Abbey have moved into a stunning £3 million home in Surrey with their family of six. The model frequently shares glimpses of the property’s luxurious features on Instagram, including photos of the bedrooms and Peter’s home office.
