Pete Wicks Says Dancing With Jowita Guarantees Victory

Pete Wicks has once again spoken warmly about Jowita Przystal, describing her as “amazing” while sharing his thoughts on her upcoming Strictly Come Dancing run.

Fans will remember that Pete and Jowita were paired during the 2024 series, making it all the way to the semi-final before being eliminated in week 12 after a dance-off with Tasha Ghouri and Aljaz Skorjanec. While they didn’t lift the Glitterball – that honour went to Chris McCausland and Dianne Buswell – their bond has remained strong.

The pair reunited on September 19 at London’s O2 Arena for a live edition of Pete and Sam Thompson’s Staying Relevant podcast, where they performed the routine they had hoped to showcase in last year’s final. Dancing to Kaleo’s Way Down We Go, Jowita was suspended on silks before falling into Pete’s arms – with the pair appearing to kiss several times, much to the delight of the audience.

Back on the podcast this week, Pete was asked about Jowita’s new Strictly journey alongside TV star Ross King. With his best friend Vicky Pattison also competing, Pete admitted: “It’s unfair this year. Someone’s got an advantage because they get to dance with Jowita. If anyone deserves the final, I’d love it to be Vick and Jowita.”

When Sam pressed him on whether Jowita’s new partner could do well, Pete joked: “No!” before quickly adding a heartfelt note. “Genuinely, I always think Jowita’s got a chance at anything because she’s amazing. If she could get me to a semi-final, whoever she’s with this year is already an improvement. I’ll be at the first live show, because that’s always a pleasure.”
