Pete Wicks and Olivia Attwood appeared on ITV’s This Morning to chat about their new radio show The Sunday Roast, but didn’t address the rumours that Maura Higgins kissed Danny Jones
Pete Wicks joined ITV’s This Morning to spill the tea on his fresh radio venture with Olivia Attwood – but stayed away from the topic of his ex Maura Higgins.
While Pete and Olivia touched on their eagerness to dish out the BRIT Awards dirt to their radio audience, they dodged any chatter about reports of Danny Jones being spotted kissing I’m A Celebrity alum Maura Higgins at an afterparty.
Chatting with hosts Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley, the duo dished details about their new KISS FM gig, The Sunday Roast. As Cat congratulated them for surviving their radio debut despite nursing BRITs hangovers, this prompting Pete to confess: “I think that’s the biggest surprise to the bosses and us, that we made it through. We hit a wall about an hour in.”
Olivia chimed in with her own struggle: “I would say 4pm was a low point for me on a personal level. My monitor was logged out for ten minutes and I hadn’t noticed. A producer came around and she was like, ‘You haven’t got your script up.’ I was just winging it.”
The pair admitted their BRITs mission to gather juicy tidbits for their listeners somewhat backfired, as Pete revealed: “We went to the BRITs to try and get gossip to obviously then tell the listeners on the show but then we couldn’t really remember much of what happened so that kind of negated that mission.”
Pete couldn’t help but gush about his BRITs highlight, confessing he was starstruck by Jared Leto. “I’m like a Poundland Jared Leto,” he joked, while Olivia shared that Sabrina Carpenter’s opening act blew her away, reports the Mirror.
“That opening was spectacular,” she enthused, with Pete chiming in: “It’s the only bit that we can remember.”
Earlier in the day, Pete’s ex, Maura Higgins, caused quite the stir after she was reportedly seen sharing a kiss with her I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! campmate Danny Jones. The pair were also spotted making an exit from a BRITs afterparty together, an event that saw celebs like Sam Thompson, Pete Wicks, Olivia Attwood, Calum Scott, and Oti Mabuse in attendance.
The Sun snagged footage that seems to capture Danny – who tied the knot with Georgia Horsley back in 2014 – kissing Maura amidst their chat. An insider dished that they “seemed to be having a great time” and labelled the peck as a “brief, drunken moment.”
Post-scandal, Danny Jones’ Instagram has been swamped by fans dropping their two cents, with one fan expressing their letdown: “Wtf Danny. You are married with a child. Fans are meant to respect you but how can they when you don’t even respect yourself.”
