Perrie Edwards, famed for being one third of Little Mix, is engaged to professional footballer Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. Here’s a look into the singer’s life and relationship…
Perrie Edwards found fame as a member of girl group Little Mix on The X Factor, but she’s since gone on to launch a successful solo music career and set up her own fashion brand. The singer released her first solo material last year, after she and bandmates Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jade Thirwall opted to go their separate ways.
Perrie, 31, who is due to appear on BBC’s Michael McIntyre’s Big Show on Saturday, 23 February, has also seen her personal life thrust into the spotlight over recent years, having formed a relationship with professional footballer Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
Alex, also 31, previously played for Liverpool FC but now plays for Turkish club Beşiktaş Jimnastik Kulübü (BJK), based in Istanbul. He signed for the club in August 2023 and began splitting his time between the UK and Turkey, making his and Perrie’s romance slightly more difficult to navigate.

Perrie has been open about the difficulties in navigating a long distance romance, admitting it can be tough to spend time together as she and Alex split their time between Turkey and Cheshire, where their family home is based. However, she also revealed that she and Alex, who are parents to son Axel, three, have never lived together, despite having been in a relationship for over eight years.
Speaking on The Jonathan Ross Show last year, the pop star said: “I can’t lie, it is hard. When he was playing for Liverpool and based in Manchester, it was so easy to do the back and forth, but Turkey is a little bit further and he doesn’t get a lot of time off.”
She went on to add: “I’m trying to launch a solo career whilst having a two year old so it is a lot to juggle but we make it work for the ones we love, don’t we? We’ve never lived together anyway – the whole eight years we’ve been in a relationship; we’ve never actually lived together.”

Perrie and Alex welcomed Axel in 2021, before going on to get engaged a year later after Alex popped the question during a romantic getaway. The pair are in no rush to tie the knot however, as Perrie has revealed they hope to wait until their son is older.
In a heart-to-heart with an Australian radio show, Perrie gushed: “I feel like we’ve already planned it. In our minds we know, and we talk about it a lot Alex more so than me actually which is really cute because he wants it to pop off.
“He wants a party, a performer, he wants it to be a big thing. I’m like, I know who I want as bridesmaids and this and that. It’s all kind of set in stone but we haven’t actually planned it yet. There’s a lot going on in my life right now, I’ve got so much. We’ve said about waiting for Axel to be older and then he can be a pageboy or whatever. It makes more sense.”
