Strictly Come Dancing star Nick Knowles has updated fans on his journey back to full physical health following major surgery. The DIY SOS presenter was plagued with bad luck during his stint on the BBC dancing show and has since undergone two major operations.
The 62-year old tore his ligament while attempting a jump in a dress rehearsal with his professional dancing partner Luba Mushtuk. He had to learn to walk again after surgery.
As well as damage to his knee, he was also forced to miss week two of Strictly Come Dancing after he tore his bicep while changing a tyre on his Range Rover.
Following his exit from the show, Nick underwent two surgeries, one to reattach his bicep, and another to build a new ACL and mend two tears. As a result, he was unable to appear on the final episode of Strictly Come Dancing with all of the other eliminated contestants.

Nick recently tied the knot with his fiancee Katie Dadzie, 34, in a lavish ceremony in Essex. The newlyweds shared a number of snaps to social media of their special day and several fans rushed to the comments to send their congratulations.
Katie posted a heartfelt snap of her and her husband on the dance floor during their first dance. She captioned the post: “When you marry your soulmate” followed by red love heart emojis.
Nick’s Strictly Come Dancing co-star JB Gill commented: “Congrats you two!!” A number of fans also added to the comments. One said: “Congratulations to you both, wishing you many years of happiness together.” Another said: “So much happiness…congratulations.”
The TV presenter took a slightly different approach to celebrating his marriage, as he was “thankful” he was able to dance with his new wife.
He shared a photograph from his wedding to his 310,000 followers on Instagram on Tuesday. He wore a light pink suit jacket, with Katie stood beside him in a long white dress patterned with blue flowers.
Nick wrote: “I would like to thank my Surgeon Jig Patel who rebuilt me so well I was able to walk with my bride and dance with her at our wedding.” He added: “I would also like to thank my physio Adam Eustace.”
Taking to the comments on Instagram, one fan said: “Fantastic news.” Another wrote: “Congratulations to you and Katie. I’m glad your health has improved.”
It seems that Nick has made incredible progress in the last six months. The 62-year old took to Instagram before Christmas to give his fans an update into his recovery.
He said: “Three types of knee brace and one type of elbow brace – crutches – game ready ice and pressure machine – pressure leggings – physio stretching out for months ahead but I want to be walking normally by start of February for the next DIY SOS.
“Katie my fiancée has been patient and supportive and amazingly patient with me – the worst patient in the world. It’s been frustrating and very expensive but I’m determined to get back to 100% fitness which I hope will be around August 2025. Thanks for all the well wishes and encouragement – happy new year all.”
