Molly-Mae Hague’s lonely time away from Tommy Fury before split during ‘stressful’ period

Former Love Island stars Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury shocked fans yesterday (Wednesday, August 14) after announcing that they had decided to call time on their relationship

Molly-Mae Hague has opened up to her followers about a particularly tough period in her relationship with Tommy Fury, revealing it was stressful and lonely when they were often apart.

In a surprising turn of events yesterday (Wednesday, August 14) the beloved Love Island duo announced their split after five years together, including a year-long engagement, leaving fans stunned.

The reason for their breakup remains private, but Molly-Mae hinted at heartache in a poignant part of her statement, saying she “never imagined our story would end, especially not this way”.

Both Molly-Mae and Tommy have taken to Instagram to respectfully request privacy from their followers as they deal with this challenging chapter.

Throughout their relationship, 25 year old Molly-Mae didn’t shy away from sharing the realities of their life, including the struggles of being a new mum to their daughter Bambi, who is now 19 months old.

After revealing her pregnancy in 2022, Molly-Mae spoke candidly about feeling alone and even suggested that Tommy sometimes “forgets” she was pregnant.

While speaking to iFL TV during her seventh month of pregnancy, the influencer described her life as “great” but also “stressful”, with Tommy being away at a training camp for an upcoming fight.

She confessed that the separation made things hard, saying: “I’m working all the time and he’s away working so it’s just constant, like we’re never together.”

Molly-Mae lamented the lack of typical pregnancy experiences, stating: “People have these dream pregnancies where they are always with their husbands doing baby shopping and cute things, and me and Tommy just communicate through FaceTime at this point.”

Molly-Mae dished that sometimes Tommy would need a little nudge to remember she was expecting, but she’s thrilled to have him around as they gear up for the arrival of their little one.

They celebrated the birth of their daughter Bambi in January 2023 and by mid-year, he had proposed, sealing their sweet love story.

Despite her support for his boxing career, Molly-Mae has confessed that deep down she “hated” what Tommy does, which he divulged on BBC Breakfast saying, “She watches the ground while I fight.”

He detailed further: “She only tolerates boxing because she knows how happy it makes me. That’s it. Other than that she hates it.”

Tommy understood her fears, expressing: “She doesn’t like talking about it, she doesn’t like watching it, nothing, which I can understand.”

His grasp of her concern is touching as he recognises: “She’s watching her partner, the father to her baby, getting in the ring, have a fight and get punched up. It’s not a nice feeling to go through so I commend her, I do.”

However, in a surprising turn just before they announced their separation, Molly-Mae opened up to her followers about the pressures of parenting solo while Tommy was away.
