Ex-Coronation Street star Michelle Keegan has shared several photographs to Instagram of her and her husband Mark Wright holidaying in their “fave” destination in Europe. Majorca, located in the Balearic islands of Spain, is a popular holiday spot for many UK travellers as it guarantees hot weather and stunning beaches.
Michelle Keegan is set to return to our TV screens on Sunday, March 9 for the new series of Ten Pound Poms. Michelle, 37, stars as nurse Kate Thorne in the BBC show, created by Danny Brocklehurst, which follows people from the UK who migrated to Australia after World War II.
At the end of last year, Michelle shared a post on Instagram while she was soaking up the sun in Palma. She captioned the selection of images; “Just a couple of days in our fave place before the Christmas build up begins.”
Fans took to the comments to agree with Michelle in her choice of destination. One said: “my favourite place in the world”, while more added: “One of my favourite places for a chilled few days away”, “Beautiful island my favourite.”
The Stockport-born actress posted several snaps of her sunny getaway including a photo of her wearing a relaxed shirt dress as she strolled down a street in the sun. One image appeared to show husband Mark Wright inside a coffee shop, and several photos showed off Majorca’s golden beaches.
It’s not the first time the couple have holidayed in Majorca, in fact they even own a holiday apartment out there which Mark has renovated for the couple. Although at the time he faced some challenges with the renovation, he did share a video which showed the sleek interior and the glorious sea views it has to offer, Manchester Evening News Reports.
The couple, both 37, have also visited a small village called Deia on the northwest coast of the island. It’s known as one of the prettiest villages on the island and has been a magnet for celebrities throughout the decades.
The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and David Bowie are some of the famous faces said to have stayed there, while Beyoncé and Kate Moss have been spotted there in recent years. Richard Branson loved it so much he purchased a hotel there in the 80s and his son Sam even named his daughter after the village.
Although Michelle didn’t reveal where they were staying during this visit, she did post a photo of Forn des Teatre, a famous bakery and patisserie in Palma. The shop is known for its art nouveau exterior and is one of the most photographed buildings in the city. If Michelle did buy anything from the bakery, it’s likely it would be a classic Majorca ensaimada pastry which the shop specialises in.
Those looking to head to Michelle and Mark’s ‘fave place’ can get there for £16 one way in April according to Skyscanner. Costs for a return flight start at £28 with Ryanair, but please note this does not include larger luggage allowance or seat allocation.
