The former Coronation Street star has taken to Instagram today to announce the exciting news. In a joint post with her husband, Mark, she said: “Together we have a new love to share… Our little girl. Palma Elizabeth Wright. 06.03.25.”
Fans and followers swooned over the snap and heaped praise on the special name. Charley Webb, who played Debbie Dingle in Emmerdale, said: “Dreamiest of names”
A follower named Rachel posted: “Congratulations, beautiful name.” Andy said: “Not heard of a “Palma” before..But kind of unusual/quirky/ cute name nonetheless..
“Congratulations to both Mum and Dad . Welcome to Parenthood.. The best role ever” Fiona took to the comments and posted: “An unusual but beautiful name”
It seems as though Michelle and Mark have named their first child after their favourite holiday destination. The two have regularly shared snaps from their travels in Palma, Mallorca on Instagram.
Michelle took to Instagram while she was soaking up the sun on the Balearic island. She captioned the selection of images: “Just a couple of days in our fave place before the Christmas build up begins.”
Michelle’s incredible news comes after years of speculation about when she would start a family as she has been married to former TOWIE star Mark since 2015.
The two announced they were expecting at the end of last year in a snap featuring a picture of Michelle showing off her baby bump on the beach.
She said: “2025 is going to be a special one for us… [baby emoji. love heart emoji].” Michelle and Mark first met in Dubai at the end of 2012 and confirmed their relationship at the 2013 National Television Awards.
Just nine months later, Mark proposed to Michelle during a trip back to Dubai. Mark Wright shared his emotions with The Mirror following his engagement.
He said: “I’ve got now, for the first time in my life, what I’ve always wanted and what every boy dreams of – affection in a relationship, love, best friend, a girl I fancy… everything rolled into one.”
The couple then proceeded to have a fairy-tale wedding at St Mary’s Church in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, celebrating afterwards at the grand Hengrave Hall.
