Iconic Formula One racing driver Michael Schumacher will become a grandfather as his daughter Gina has announced she’s pregnant in an adorable animal-themed Instagram post
Formula One legend Michael Schumacher’s daughter is expecting her first child – she has revealed on social media. Equestrian Gina Schumacher took to Instagram to share the news with a picture of one of her horses surrounded with pink balloons, a sign saying, “My new rider coming April 2025” and wearing a cute headband saying “Oh baby.”
Gina, who married her partner Iain Bethke three months ago at the Schumachers’ luxury family villa in Spain, captioned the series of adorable announcement pictures with: “Impatiently awaiting the arrival of our little girl.” Followers of Gina flocked to the comments to wish the parents-to-be congratulations. “So happy for you both,” one fan said. “Oh my god I’m crying. Congratulations,” another commented. A third added: “Congratulations to you all, such exciting times.”
Gina, who has amassed a following of 335k on Instagram, tied the knot with Iain back in September at the holiday home in Port d’Andratxm, which Gina’s family bought for £27million in 2017. Gina’s dad Michael was thought to be in attendance at the ceremony according to some reports. German racing driver Michael was a legend of the sport and won seven Formula One World Drivers’ Championship titles, before retiring in 2012.
He was involved in a devastating skiing accident in 2013, where he suffered life-changing injuries, including a severe brain injury. Thankfully, he survived the horrific incident and his wife Corinna has been fiercely protective over her husband and kept much of his life away from the public eye since.
However, in a Netflix documentary about Michael’s life, she made a rare declaration about Michael. “‘Private is private’, as he always said. It’s very important to me that he can continue to enjoy his private life as much as possible,” Corinna said.. “Michael always protected us and now we are protecting Michael.”
However, his daughter Gina appears to be embracing life on social media and regularly posts about her equestrian activities. She shares clips of her riding her horses in competitions as well as gorgeous photos of her animals and their stables. Away from her animal-loving snaps, she posted a shot of her and her new husband on their wedding day. “Forever yes to you, yes to forever,” she told her followers alongside the photo. “Beautiful!! Congratulations to you both,” one follower said. “Congratulations Gina you look gorgeous, your great dad will be so proud of you,” another commented.
