Maya Jama sparks romance rumours as she dines with huge footballer on New Year’s Eve ‘date’

Maya Jama has sparked romance rumours with a footballer after the pair were reportedly spotted on a New Year’s Eve date at a restaurant in Ibiza, with a selfie circulating

Love Island host Maya Jama has set tongues wagging with rumours of a new romance with a professional footballer. The TV beauty was seen dining at Sa Capella in Ibiza to welcome 2023, reportedly sharing New Year’s Eve with Manchester City’s Ruben Dias. Although the pair kept quiet about their plans, a snap that surfaced on social media suggests they enjoyed the evening together.

OK! has reached out to Maya and Ruben’s reps, and Maya’s declined to comment.

Maya also shared an Instagram post from the same venue, where she looked gorgeous posing in a silky green dress with the caption: “Happy new year love you all.”

This isn’t the first whisper of a potential link-up between Maya and Ruben as eagle-eyed fans noticed them following each other on social media after both attended the MTV EMAs in Manchester, with Ruben allegedly making the first move, reports the Daily Star.

This follows Maya’s split from her former beau Stormzy, with the ex-couple telling their followers: “We’ve been laughing whilst drafting this because we never, ever, in a million years thought we’d be the couple announcing a breakup.”

The former couple opened up about their split, saying: “But for the sake of clarity and, more importantly, to allow us the space and grace that’s needed for us both to be able to navigate this next bit of our lives with peace, we thought it might be best to.”

They also shared with fans that they “tried their best to make it work” and reassured everyone “we are still friends and will always be friends.”

Most recently, Maya is getting ready to host the second series of ITV2’s Love Island: All Stars, which is set to return in just a matter of days.

Ahead of the launch on January 13, it’s rumoured that she’ll be setting up base in Cape Town instead of commuting from the UK. It’s been suggested that she’s fully committed to her role on Love Island, a position she took over from Laura Whitmore last year. Maya is reportedly planning to spend the entire four weeks of All Stars in South Africa for its new series.

Maya announced back in May that the show would return for a second series next year. This news came just three months after the first series of All Stars ended.

While fans are eagerly awaiting the announcement of the second series’ line-up, there’s already buzz about who might be returning to the villa. Among the names being whispered is Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu, the 30 year old winner of Love Island’s eighth series in 2022, though she and her winning partner Davide Sanclimenti have since parted ways.

Speculation also surrounds Paige Thorne and Olivia Hawkins, both of whom appeared on recent series, with rumours hinting that Nas Majeed from the 2020 series could join the spin-off. Additionally, Tyrique Hyde and Scott Thomas, from the 2023 and 2016 editions of Love Island respectively, are tipped to be potential cast members.
