Martin Lewis has shared an insight into his personal life with followers on social media. The money saving expert usually focuses his posts on the latest financial hacks, tips and ways to stay on top of scams. In his latest post, Martin shared the news his daughter will be turning thirteen.
In a post on Friday evening, Martin wrote: “I’m signing off socials this week the parent of a child. When I return on Monday [today] I will be the parent of a teenager. I can’t quite comprehend that it has been almost 13 years since our darling daughter, Sapphire, was born.
“Every moment has been deliciously precious, but oh so rapid. I can’t wake to celebrate with her, take care.” Martin and Lara Lewington, also a TV presenter, have been married since May 2009. The couple share one child together, daughter Sapphire, who was born in 2012.
Speaking to The Sunday Times back in 2020, the money expert confessed that he finds it really hard to say no to his daughter because he just wants to make her happy.
He said: “When my daughter was born, I remember saying ‘I’ll buy her everything she needs, but not everything she wants’, unfortunately, I didn’t factor in her special power. Those eyes.
“I’m helpless and usually resort to saying, ‘Ask mummy’, because mummy is stronger than me. We don’t splurge on her, but one of my greatest joys is making her happy.”
The TV presenter has also spoken about not sharing pictures of his daughter, he previously said on Good Morning Britain: “With my daughter, there are no photos of her on the internet because we took that decision when she was born, it’ll be her decision when she’s 18 whether she wants any publicity.”

During a conversation with Jenni Falconer on her RunPod podcast, Lara shared some details about her and Martin’s “competitive” nature.
She said: “Well, we are quite competitive over some things, usually Scrabble, but he’s just so much better than me.”
Discussing their differing fitness routines, she continued: “He walks about 25,000 steps a day. He walks so much, I’m never gonna catch up with his steps.
“And a lot of work I do, I need to be sat down at the computer. I can’t do that much of it in calls walking around. So, I’m never going to be able to catch up with him.
“I can’t get competitive over it. He’s got a friend that he competes with and takes it very seriously, so luckily he can do that with them.”
Martin and Lara are often seen together at red carpet occasions, with their most recent outing being at The National Television Awards.
The Martin Lewis Money Show Live was nominated for the Factual Entertainment award, losing out to Clarkson’s Farm, who clinched the trophy.
