Lucy Beaumont is set to take part in an exciting new celebrity edition of The Traitors. The popular BBC programme hosted by Claudia Winkleman is centred around the game of deception and betrayal. It will feature 19 stars, including actor and broadcaster Sir Stephen Fry and Olympian Tom Daley.
Host Claudia Winkleman previously said: “We’re incredibly lucky these brilliant people have said yes. I’d love to say we’ll take it easy on them and they’ll just wander round the castle and eat toast for a couple of weeks but that would be a lie.”
Lucy Beaumont is among the list of famous faces who will make their way into the castle with the chance to prove themselves as either a Faithful or a Traitor. The 41-year-old comedian from Hull has been a familiar face on our TV screens for over a decade. She won the BBC Radio New Comedy Award back in 2012.
She is perhaps best known for her role in Meet the Richardsons, where she starred alongside her ex-husband, playing a fictionalised version of herself. The show, which ran for five series, concluded following the couple’s split in April 2024.

Comedian Jon Richardson is known for his appearances on 8 Out of 10 Cats and its spin-off Countdown show. The Countdown special began in 2012 when Jon teamed up with Rob Beckett.
Lucy and Jon were introduced to each other through fellow comedian Roisin Conaty and they dated for about two years before they tied the knot in 2015. The pair share one child, a daughter named Elise Louise who was born in 2016.
The couple announced their split in April 2024, which came as a real shock to fans. At the time of their break-up, a joint statement said: “We have jointly and amicably made the difficult decision to divorce and go our separate ways.
“As our only priority is managing this difficult transition for our daughter, we would ask that our privacy be respected at this sensitive time to protect her well-being. We will be making no further comment. Jon Richardson and Lucy Beaumont.”
Lucy spoke to OK! Magazine at the time as she addressed their split. She said: “People might think I should talk about it because we were so public and everyone knew us as a couple, but I won’t, and not because there’s any animosity.
“We both agreed that while it might be weird for other people not hearing anything about it, we wouldn’t talk about anything to do with the marriage or each other.”
Are Lucy Beaumont and Jon Richardson back together?
The couple have not rekindled their relationship and have continued to achieve their own successes in their personal lives. While Lucy signed up for the exciting new show The Celebrity Traitors, Jon decided to take his comedy career down a different path.
Filming himself in a video on Instagram earlier this year, the 42-year-old disclosed his new career. He said: “I just thought I’d give you a little update. I don’t really do social media updates, and I’ll tell you why – because I don’t think anyone cares. But I have a little bit of news. I’ve obviously been taking a little bit of a break from stand-up and it’s really made me… want to carry on taking a break from stand-up.”
He added: “I’ve been thinking a lot about a diary entry that I found from 1997.” An excerpt of his old diary then popped on screen, as the BBC Radio 6 star explained: “It’s this one. I was 14 years old, it says although I would love to be a stand-up comedian, I’ll probably end up being a teacher. And I’ve been thinking a lot about that.
“I’ve loved being a comedian, it was absolutely the right choice. But I’ve decided it would’ve been nice to try the other option, so that’s exactly what I’m gonna do.” He then shared that he had already accepted a teaching job, stating: “I’ve been doing some training, I’ve taken a teaching position. I will update you as and when I can. but that’s all from me for now, just to let you know where I’ve been. I’ll keep you posted.”
