Followers of Emily in Paris are buzzing with excitement as the much-anticipated fifth season of the series gears up, with whispers that production is underway and new episodes set to hit Netflix later this year.
The show’s fans can’t wait to dive back into Emily’s (portrayed by Lily Collins) latest escapades across Paris and Rome, but they’ve been gobsmacked by a major twist – a drastic makeover for one of the series’ staple actors, leaving everyone absolutely flabbergasted.
French heartthrob Lucas Bravo, famed for his role as Gabriel, is now barely recognisable from his former on-screen persona.
Lucas Bravo, 37, made hearts flutter when he debuted as Gabriel in 2020 with his trim haircut, clean-cut look and effortless charisma. But fast-forward five years and he’s switched things up completely, causing quite the stir among fans.
Bravo took to Instagram this week to flaunt his revamped style, now sporting a rugged beard and flowing locks. His followers erupted with astonishment at his fresh image.

He accompanied his snapshot with the caption: “Such an honour to be present for @airbnb’s summer launch. @bchesky worked his magic and is changing the way we travel once more.”
Garnering over 22,000 likes along with a flood of comments, his new Instagram post featuring a dramatic new look has certainly got people talking. Admirers were quick to react, with one user confessing: “Didn’t even recognize you!”
Intrigue continued, as someone else probed: “Is this your new look for Gabriel this season?” And there was no shortage of adoration for his bold transformation, as another fan gushed over his ‘viking look’.
“You look great – love the new styling,” another penned, while one more exclaimed: “Didn’t think you could get any hotter, but here you are.”
Even though Lucas is hardly recognisable off-screen in contrast to his Emily in Paris character Gabriel, audiences are absolutely smitten seeing him grace their screens. Apart from his charming portrayal of Gabriel, Lucas has a dazzling array of roles under his belt including stellar performances in Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris and The Honeymoon.
He’s also graced the silver screen in the romantic comedy Ticket to Paradise, starring alongside Hollywood heavyweights George Clooney, Julia Roberts and Kaitlyn Dever. Speculation about the future of the Emily in Paris series is reaching fever pitch.
We’ve recently learned that Lily Collins has touched down in Rome to commence the Italian leg for the next instalment as Emily Cooper. This hints at a riveting escapade through Italy for Emily before she possibly heads back to French soil.
The show’s creator Darren Star is buzzing with excitement, sharing: “The cast and crew of Emily in Paris are thrilled to begin filming season 5 in the Eternal City. From Parisian rooftops to Roman ruins, we can’t wait to share where Emily’s next chapter takes us.”

The confirmed ensemble returning to our screens includes illustrious names like Collins, Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu (Sylvie Grateau), Ashley Park (Mindy Chen), Lucas Bravo (Gabriel), Samuel Arnold (Julien), Bruno Gouery (Luc), William Abadie (Antoine Lambert), Lucien Laviscount (Alfie) and Eugenio Franceschini (Marcello).
The fourth season saw the lead character swept off her feet by a charming Italian fashion heir and moving into an Italian apartment as she sets up a Rome division for Agence Grateau. But despite the noteworthy change in scenery, the show is set to stay true to its roots.
Creator Darren Star revealed: “Emily’s going to have a presence in Rome. It doesn’t mean she’s not going to be in Paris, but she’s going to have a presence in Rome.”
