Love Island’s Curtis Pritchard Breaks Silence on Split from Ekin-Su and Shares Reason in Statement
Love Island star Curtis Pritchard has spoken out following his breakup with Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu — just hours after she publicly confirmed their split. The breakup comes only three months after the couple left the Love Island: All Stars villa as finalists.
Ekin-Su, 30, shared the news on Instagram on Wednesday, 28 May, calling it a “tough decision.”
“I wanted to share that Curtis and I have decided to go our separate ways. It’s been a really tough decision, but one made with a lot of love and respect for one another,” she wrote.
“He’s an incredible person and I’ll always cherish the memories we made both in and out of the villa. Thank you all so much for the love and support over the past few months. We’re both focusing on navigating this transition and would really appreciate privacy during this time.”
Curtis, 29, later issued his own statement, confirming the breakup and thanking fans for their support.
“Just a quick note to say thank you so much for all the kind messages — it really does mean the world,” he began.
“It’s true, Ekin and I have decided to go our separate ways.”
While acknowledging that breakups are never easy, Curtis expressed gratitude for their time together.
“I’ll always be grateful for the laughs, the adventures, and the memories (especially the dance routines). I’ll be keeping busy with work, boxing, dancing, and working with the team on FINT. Lots of love, Curtis.”
The couple became fan favorites during Love Island: All Stars back in February, finishing in third place. At the time, Curtis had said:
“I didn’t expect to be here, but I’ve found Ekin.”
Ekin-Su had gushed in response:
“I found my man. I’ve got a boyfriend — and for me, this is winning. This is it!”
Their breakup follows another recent Love Island split, with All Stars winners Gabby Allen and Casey O’Gorman also announcing their separation. In a joint statement, their representatives confirmed the split was mutual and that the two remain on good terms.
“Gabby is grateful for the memories they’ve created together and wishes Casey nothing but the best. She’s excited for what the future holds,” her rep added.
