Lisa Riley shares encouraging message to Peter Kay as he poses for a rare photo with an Emmerdale star.

Emmerdale’s Lisa Jane Riley enjoyed a visit to the First Direct arena in Leeds last night to watch comedian Peter Kay perform. Lisa plays the role of Mandy Dingle in the fictional village.

Off-screen the actress regularly shares updates from her personal life to social media. Last night she took to Instagram with a selfie, captioning it: “All dressed up and ready to laugh!!!! “Girls Night Out” for plenty of comedy.”

This morning, a thrilled Lisa shared a snap with the comedian after his show. She wrote: THANK YOU so so so much Peter for the most fantastic night last night at @firstdirectarena we laughed until it hurt-the show is absolutely hilarious-we were up until way gone midnight reciting all the jokes-northern at its absolute best.

“My best mate Floss and my God-Daughter Chloe had the most beautiful night-smiling from ear to ear and still laughing this morning it was OUTSTANDING…..so much nostalgia that warms your heart.”

The 48-year-old then uploaded a selfie of her and the Bolton-born comic, thanking him again. She added “Thank you Peter, for the most fantastic night. Still laughing, you are the best of the best …. Fact.”

Others who were in attendance at the show commented their thoughts in the comments. Hayley commented “was there last night laughed from start to finish he was brilliant” and Mich agreed “Finally got to see one of my all time faves, Peter Kay, and he didn’t disappoint! Also lovely to see you in the audience too.”

Further responses were “Did he see you in audience and tell you you looked like Lisa Riley” and “My daughter and myself went to the Manchester arena a few weeks ago to see Peter and it was brilliant, glad you had a great time, he really is fab.”

The snap of the two comes just weeks after a jibe aimed at a heckler in Manchester, Peter ejected two hecklers from his show at the AO Arena back on February 8, after one man yelled out ‘garlic bread’, before a woman began to chant: “We love you Peter, we do.”

As Myar Curran, 25, was removed from the arena, Peter told her: “Out you go. Go on, Lisa Riley, f*** off. Go on. Out you pop flower, go on. See you. You’ve upset every b*gger.” Myar described feeling ‘so upset’ at Peter’s comments, telling the Manchester Evening News she believed it was a reference to her weight. At the time Lisa defended the comedian.

In February Peter said he had ‘no choice’ but to ask security to eject two hecklers at his show on Saturday because their ‘repeated disruptions’ made it ‘impossible to continue’. In his statement at the time Peter said: “I then tried to ignore them, hoping they’d settle down, but when the disruption persisted into the second half of the show, I asked the audience around them if they were being bothered by the noise.
