Lilly Gerrard has shared an adorable photo of her baby’s first piece of Liverpool FC clothing. The daughter of Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard gave birth to her first child in July this year. The exciting family news was announced on social media on Tuesday, July 15.
Lilly shared the incredible news that she had given birth when she posted a snap of her partner, Lee Byrne, as he carried their new baby out of the hospital. She captioned the post: “2 becomes 3.”
The Liverpool FC legend’s daughter carried on a family tradition as she confirmed the name of her new bundle of joy. After giving birth, she announced the name on Instagram. She said: “So lucky to be your mum. My beautiful baby girl. Lila Grey. Perfection.”
The beautiful name is in keeping with a family tradition as the retired Reds’ midfielder and his wife Alex gave all of their children names beginning with L. In addition to Lilly, Steven and Alex are the proud parents of Lexie, Lourdes and Lio.
Steven Gerrard has embraced his new role as grandad and regularly shares photos of himself on “grandad duty”. The 45-year-old shared a snap cradling Lila with his Instagram followers last month.
His daughter regularly keeps her followers updated on life as a new mum, from her first night out with her partner Lee after giving birth, to taking Lila Grey shopping in Liverpool One.
Most recently, the 21-year-old shared a snap of a Liverpool FC baby grow for her almost two-month-old. The outfit was completed with an adorable red bow hairband for Lila Grey. Lilly added laughing emojis and a red love heart as she showed off the new outfit on social media.
In addition to the cute LFC outfit, Lilly also shared a more heartwarming photo of a silver watch that she has had personally engraved with her daughter’s birth date. On the back of the watch’s face, it says: “Lila Grey Gerrard. 14.07.25.”
Lilly and her partner Lee Byrne have been dating for over two years, the two confirmed their relationship in 2022 with a series of pictures from time together in Ibiza, Spain.
Gerrard’s daughter grew up in Merseyside but has spent a lot of time away from the UK in the past couple of years due to her dad’s management commitments with Al-Ettifaq FC, a team he departed from in January.
Last month, she wowed fans as she shared snaps of her first night out since giving birth. She recently attended a Drake concert at the Co-Op Live arena in Manchester with her partner Lee.
Lilly captioned the post: “Mum and dad are out” with a celebration emoji and red love heart emoji. She shared an adorable snap alongside her partner as the couple enjoyed their night away from their newborn.
The 21-year-old looked “amazing” as she wore a pair of blue denim jeans and a black long-sleeved bodysuit. Lilly’s followers were quick to flood the comments with positive messages and compliments
