Lilly Gerrard has welcomed daughter Lila Grey into the world with her partner Lee Byrne. The exciting family news was announced on Tuesday, July 15 by the daughter of Liverpool legend, Steven Gerrard.
She shared a sweet snap to Instagram stories of Lee holding a baby carrier. The black and white photo was captioned: “@Leebyrne 2 becomes 3”, alongside a pink heart and a baby emoji. Lilly announced her pregnancy news back in January of this year.
Gerrard’s eldest daughter has stayed with the family tradition of using names beginning with ‘L’. In addition to Lilly, Gerrard and Alex are the proud parents of Lexie, Lourdes and Lio.
Last night, Lily posted a photo hold Lila Grey, she captioned it “My world”, with an Earth emoji. She has also shared photos of the retired midfielder holding his baby granddaughter with the caption “Little angel is here.”
She followed it up with a snap of her mum, Alex, holding the newborn with her 223,000 followers. Lilly revealed the exciting news she was expecting a baby in January.
She said: “Our little secret. The best news, mini us is on the way.” The parents have been preparing for the arrival of their baby and have brought a number of things so they were ready when the baby arrives.
Last month Lilly posted a picture of a trolley filled with nappies, baby wipes, lotions and other products and she commented “nesting mode” on an Instagram story.
Gerrard was the first to comment after his daughter revealed her exciting baby news earlier this year as he said: “We cant wait. Great news and congratulations we love you.”
Mum Alex, took to the comments and said: “Can’t wait.” Lexie also took to the comments as she posted on the social media platform: “Can’t wait to be a auntie.”
Lilly and her partner Lee Byrne have been dating for over two years, the two confirmed their relationship in 2022 with a series of pictures from time together in Ibiza, Spain.
The daughter of Gerrard grew up on Merseyside but has spent a lot of time away from the UK in the past couple of years due to her dad’s management commitments with Al-Ettifaq FC, a team he departed in January.
Lexie Gerrard sent a heartfelt message to her sister, saying: “She’s perfection. Proud of you” and Curtis jones girlfriend Saffie Khan sent a love heart emoji after the birth announcement.
Nicola Carragher wrote: “Congratulations Lilly, Lee and all the family so happy for you all.” Chelsea Healey also commented a series of supportive emojis.
