Leanne Campbell hints at “new adventures” after her “life turned upside down.”

Leanne Campbell has shared a life update following the news in March that her long-running breakfast show has been axed. Earlier this year, it was announced that Hits Radio, formerly Radio City, will stop broadcasting the show this summer as it is set to be replaced by a national show.

The radio host has co-hosted breakfast on Radio City and Hits Radio for more than 10 years, alongside her current presenting partner Joel Ross, they will both leave their slot of 6am-10am when the changes come into place.

Leanne shared her thoughts about the news as she posted a Facebook post in March. She told fans of the show: “Our show will be replaced by a national show. To every single one of you who has woken up with me in Liverpool for over 22 years, thank you from the bottom of my heart.

“It has been the greatest privilege to be part of your mornings, to share the laughter, the stories, our lives and all the moments that have made this job so special THANK YOU!”

She continued: “Your support has always meant the world to me and without it we wouldn’t have smashed those glass ceilings together. What a journey! The scouse ‘travel girl’ is forever grateful for what we achieved! X”

The programme was the only one left on Hits Radio Liverpool that had a Merseyside link, after the Radio City breakfast show was combined with the one broadcast on Lancashire’s Rock FM – which Joel hosted.

Parent company Bauer Media revealed that it will scrap local and regional breakfast shows on all of its Hits Radio stations for the whole of England and Wales from June 9.

‌Despite the news that her time on the radio show will be coming to an end, Leanne has remained positive and upbeat. Her latest Instagram post gave fans an insight into her next career steps.

The presenter said: “Been manifesting my little head off the last few weeks, this page is about to get BUSY! Life’s been turned upside down but you know what? I hustle harder when my feelings get hurt & you will never find me where you left me!”

Leanne put her determination down to her Scouse, Irish blood, telling followers that there are “new adventures incoming”. Leanne asked fans to keep supporting her posts and subscribing to her podcast.

She added: “You gorgeous lot your encouragement is priceless! Now let’s see what the rest of 2025 brings.” Fans and friends were quick to leave messages of support.

The_lash_boss_Liverpool commented: “I will always maintain you were my first friend in Liverpool 7 years ago when I started lashing here – I used to listen to you. Some of the best laughs and the best introduction to learning all about what it is to be a Scouse woman.”

Lisa replied: “Can’t keep a Scouse queen down for long. We are with you all the way” and Sharon added “You’re One Of Liverpool’s National Treasures.”

Nikki shared the same sentiment as her comment read: “There is so much love in the north west for you Leanne. Can’t wait to see where you pop up next. Lots of love and luck.”

Kelly added: “Love this, their loss will be someone else’s bigger gain. Wishing you all the luck in the world. Not that you need it.” And Paula wrote “Onwards and upwards Leanne you are a superstar I will miss my mornings lol on the way to work and I look for to your next chapter in life can’t wait.”
