Grammy-winning superstar Kylie Minogue paused her Liverpool concert for a touching moment after noticing a young fan in tears. The iconic ‘Princess of Pop’ brought her much-anticipated 2025 Tension Tour to the M&S Bank Arena on Thursday, May 23, marking what she promised would be her biggest tour outing since the Aphrodite: Les Folies Tour back in 2011.

The tour began in Australia, traveled through Asia, and finally made its way to the UK. Kylie kicked off the spectacular show with the energetic Lights Camera Action, followed by fan favorites like In Your Eyes and Get Outta My Way. By the third act, the 56-year-old star dazzled in a red sequin jumpsuit as she danced her way through the crowd to a smaller stage deeper inside the arena, giving more fans an intimate view of her performance.

It was there, looking out at the audience, that Kylie spotted a young girl named Poppy, visibly moved and in tears. Showing her caring side, Kylie gently asked if she needed “a cuddle.” The little girl was then lifted over the barrier and warmly embraced by Kylie as the crowd erupted in cheers. This heartfelt interaction was captured by the ECHO, showing Kylie inviting the crowd to wave and shout “Hi Poppy!”

Kylie then playfully suggested doing a “lap of honour” around the square stage to give everyone a wave. During their lap, Poppy handed Kylie a note, to which the star responded with a smile: “Guess what, there’s nothing else in these pockets—there’s only one thing and that’s Poppy’s note.” The pair shared a final embrace before Poppy was carefully lifted back over the barrier, with the crowd continuing to chant her name in celebration.

During this segment of the show, Kylie performed songs such as Hold On To Now, fan requests Got To Be Certain, Hand On Your Heart, and I Should Be So Lucky, before returning to the main stage to close out the night.

The evening was a glittering celebration of music, sequins, and confetti, ending with Kylie’s 2023 hit Padam Padam and the timeless anthem Love At First Sight. Leading up to the concert, the ECHO captured stunning photos of Kylie’s fans, many of whom went all out in dazzling outfits and Kylie-themed t-shirts, creating a festive and vibrant atmosphere.

Among the thousands in attendance was a longtime fan who has adored Kylie since he was 12. His wife shared with the ECHO how he “just loves” the pop icon and wanted to be sparkling for the occasion—joking that he hopes to marry Kylie, though she might “bin him off.” Celebrating his 50th birthday in February, their children surprised him with tickets for the show.

Rachel and Nicky, a couple from the Wirral, also shared their excitement. Fans of Kylie since her days as Charlene in Neighbours, they attended the concert to celebrate Nicky’s 40th birthday. Rachel said, “We’ve never been to a show together, so we’re really looking forward to it.”

Peter, who came with his partner Spencer, revealed he’s been a Kylie fan since the age of eight. He recalled, “I was hooked ever since I watched Neighbours. It was a big thing when I was little in the 80s, so I can’t wait for tonight.”

Overall, Kylie Minogue’s Liverpool show was not just a concert but a heartfelt celebration of her enduring connection with fans across generations, blending glamour, emotion, and pure pop joy into one unforgettable night.
