Kerry Katona has shared her heartbreaking last interactions with late boxer Ricky Hatton and the regret that has been replaying in her head since the news. Writing in her weekly New! Magazine column, Kerry admitted that she spoke to Ricky over the summer while they were both in Ibiza, but turned him down when he asked her to come out to meet him.
Ricky passed away on Sunday 14 September, with the boxer found in his home by his manager and close friend, Paul Speak. The mum-of-five, who has worked with Ricky over recent months, added that her children were all “really upset”.
Elsewhere in her column, Kerry shared an update from her tour with Katie Price and detailed her recent trip to Rome with boyfriend Paolo Margaglione.
R.I.P Ricky
I was devastated when I heard about Ricky Hatton’s death, it really shook me up. He was a great friend. When I was in Ibiza recently he asked me to meet up twice, and I didn’t because I didn’t want to go out and just wanted to chill, but now that has been replaying in my head. My kids have met him too – he jokingly sparred with DJ earlier this year and even said he would help Max with boxing lessons. The whole family have been really upset. I’m sending love to his family.
La Dolce Vita
I took Paolo to Rome last week for his birthday, and we had the most amazing time. It was genuinely phenomenal, it’s such a beautiful city. Luckily, Paolo speaks Italian so he did all the talking. We went to the Colosseum, had a private tour of the Vatican City and ate amazing food together – it was the perfect trip, I feel so content with him. See Us On Tour
I’m back on tour this week and absolutely loving it! Katie and I are having such a laugh. I thought I’d be burnt out, and while it is really tiring, it’s all going so well and the theatres are always full. My Celebs Go Dating co-star Jon Lee and his boyfriend Jordan came to see us last week, as did some of my family, which was lovely. The kids are all busy so aren’t coming along with me – Molly and Lilly are in Ireland, DJ is back at school and Heidi and Max are far too busy with their own social lives! I’ve just joined Snapchat and am posting loads of behind-the-scenes stuff on there, so give me a follow.
Kids Can Be Cruel
I read that Rochelle Humes’ daughter has been bullied at school recently, which is such a shame. It’s so hard when you’re in the public eye because your kids get stick for things you’ve done or because you’re famous – it’s so out of their control. My kids have had their fair share of bullying. I remember Molly coming home and asking me what a “coke-head” was, and people saying things to Heidi about my OnlyFans. It’s an awful thing to go through and I hope Rochelle is OK.
Strictly Drama
Thomas Skinner has opened up about being unfaithful to his wife after the drama surrounding him at the Strictly launch earlier this month. I really feel for his wife, she’s the innocent one in all of this and has to deal with the public embarrassment of it all. It’s easy for people to say she should leave him, but they’ve got a marriage and children, so it’s not that simple. I’ve been cheated on before and I know how it feels – it’s much easier looking at it from the outside. I’m also thinking Thomas might struggle for votes on Strictly after that revelation!
