Kelvin and Liz Fletcher will be sharing their life on the farm with viewers of ITV morning show Lorraine in the coming weeks after the success of their series Fletchers’ Family Farm
Emmerdale actor and Strictly Come Dancing sensation Kelvin Fletcher and his wife Liz are once again opening up their farm life to ITV’s cameras. After the success of their 2023 series, Fletchers’ Family Farm, the couple are now giving Lorraine viewers an exclusive look into their rural lifestyle.
Speaking to Lorraine Kelly on Thursday 16 January after dropping the kids off at school, Liz revealed: “Over the next few weeks and months we’re going to be sharing with you and the viewers a bit of an exclusive insight into our life on the farm. It’s going to be an exciting few months with you guys.”
Lorraine described the pair as ‘”living the dream” with their farm life, but Kelvin humorously responded: “I didn’t feel like I was living the dream this morning, when no one would do what they were told, that’s the children, not the animals, the animals are normally the best behaved really.”
The couple then introduced two of their cows to the cameras, one of which is “obsessed” with Kelvin and pushes Liz aside if she gets too close. They also discussed how their four children are adjusting to farm life, with Liz saying: “The kids are all at different ages so Marnie and Milo are definitely a help, the twins are an absolute liability.”
Kelvin added: “I think the best thing about having the kids for me is their understanding of the responsibility you have with a farm and the privilege it is. Understanding where our food comes from the hard work, the ups and downs,” reports the Mirror.
Kelvin Fletcher, former Emmerdale heartthrob and Strictly Come Dancing champ, chatted with Lorraine about the huge life changes for him and his brood. Swapping scripts for sheep, the actor who used to be Andy Sugden in the soap from 1996 to 2016 exchanged potential Hollywood glam for farm life in Cheshire post his glitterball triumph.
“So you’ve gone from Hollywood to being a farmer, you couldn’t make it up could you?” Lorraine quizzed, sparking Kelvin’s response: “Hollywood to Cheshire, I didn’t quite plan for that, it’s funny how things turn out and with our family now, it’s a life that we never envisaged but it’s a life we can’t imagine not being like that.”
The family’s rustic retreat, nestled at the fringes of the Peak District, is a buzzing haven with over 100 sheep, cheerful pigs, majestic horses, and an assortment of chickens, a cat, and a dog, all shared with Kelvin, his wife Liz, and their adorable four kids. During a Good Morning Britain interview in 2023, he described the daunting yet thrilling farm setup venture: “It’s been a little overwhelming at times if I’m honest, but that’s the beauty of this adventure,” he remarked warmly.
“It’s a new chapter for us and there’s nothing relatable or transferable from my time in Emmerdale unfortunately! I always tell myself Rome wasn’t built in a day.”
