“JB Gill from BBC’s The One Show expresses disappointment after pop sensation cancels their appearance.”

The One Show host JB Gill was devastated when an A-list guest cancelled their appearance at the last minute.

During Thursday’s (March 27) show, the JLS star and his co-host Alex Jones gave viewers the lowdown on who’d be on the sofa the following day, with JB barely containing his excitement about one particular star.

“We’ll be back tomorrow when we’ll be joined by Beyond Paradise stars Kris Marshall and Zahra Ahmadi,” JB said as the episode wrapped up.

Alex said that actors Rosamund Pike and Olivia Dean were also set to drop by, adding: “And someone JB is super excited about, the real-life Usher is going to be here.”

Hollywood star Danielle Brooks, who was sitting on the sofa at the time, couldn’t hide her thrill over the music icon’s anticipated visit, saying she “will be back”, reports the Mirror.

But come Friday’s (March 28) programme, Alex had to break some unfortunate news, revealing that Usher wasn’t able to grace the studio with his presence.

“Now, we said last night that Usher was gonna be here. JB is devastated because unfortunately, he couldn’t make it,” Alex relayed, as a crestfallen JB put his head in his hands.

To soften the blow, Alex suggested it might’ve been tricky squeezing in the star, considering how full tonight’s schedule was.

“But it would have been a tough job because we’ve got such a full sofa anyway,” Alex concluded, before introducing the day’s guests.

Later in the episode, Beyond Paradise stars Kris Marshall and Zahra Ahmadi gave fans a sneak peek into the upcoming third season of the popular crime drama, which premiered at 8pm on BBC One.

The first episode saw Kris and Zahra’s characters, DI Humphrey Goodman and DS Esther Williams, kick off an investigation after a body was found in a river on the Devon-Cornwall border.

While their rivals were quick to write off the case as a tragic accident, Humphrey believed that there was more to the story than what appeared on the surface.
