James Carragher praised Oasis as he and his dad Jamie were spotted at the band’s latest gig. Jamie Carragher is a legendary figure for Liverpool FC, winning nine major trophies in 737 appearances for the club.
His son James plays for Wigan Athletic and represents Malta at international level as Jamie’s grandad is from the southern region of European island nation. Last night, they shared a series of pictures on their Instagram page from the Oasis gig which took place at Wembley last night. Oasis, led by brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher, announced that the band had reformed last year.
The footballers went to the Wembley gig last night with a large group of friends and they were big fans of what they saw. There were several pictures of the group smiling from the stands.
James Carragher shared a picture of himself and three friends at the gig and said: “Best concert I’ve ever been too. Fact.”
Some might be surprised to see the Carragher’s at the concert given Jamie’s public spats with Oasis, who are led by Manchester City fans.
Liverpool and City have forged a strong rivalry in recent years, with routinely going head-to-head in the hunt for Premier League titles and domestic cups. During this time, Liam has regularly used his X/Twitter account to take aim at Carragher and the Reds.

In May 2022, after Liverpool lost out on the Premier League on the final day of the season to City, Liam took to X/Twitter to mock the Bootle-born defender.
Liam said: “”What you saying Carra you b***end?”
Carragher responded: “I’m saying you’ll never win the Champions league and Oasis are s***e compared to the Beatles. That work?”
Gallagher fired back with: “Carra you’ve got s*** banter for a Scouser. Oasis p*** all over The Beatles.”
That didn’t stop Carragher from getting tickets though. In an interview in September of last year on CBS Sports, then Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold was asked by Carragher if he had got tickets to see the famous band.
Alexander-Arnold laughed and said: “No. I like Oasis, I like the songs but… I don’t know whether I’m welcome at their concert! And Carra, I don’t know whether you are either!”
Responding to Alexander-Arnold, Carragher said: “No chance! I’ve got the box though, I’ve got my name down. Wembley.”
