ITV Tipping Point viewers left ‘distracted’ early on by unexpected Ben Shephard detail.

Three new contestants have competed on ITV gameshow Tipping Point, in an attempt to win the cash jackpot. Ben Shephard is the host of the show, a role he has had since 2012.

Taking on the coin-pusher machine in today’s episode were Ken, a retired factory manager from Warrington, Michelle who is a teacher from Cardiff and Saleem, a pharmacy student from Wolverhampton.

As the show got underway and the contestants started putting well-earned counters into the machine, viewers were distracted by the actions of Ben Shephard.

The show can be intense at times as coins teeter over the edge, close to falling. Other moments of excitement are when multiple coins drop at the same time, adding to the cash fund of the lucky contestant.

The first round hadn’t yet concluded when Chris took to X, formerly known as Twitter to complain about the noises being made by the host. He wrote: “Hate those arrggh noises Ben makes!!!! #tippingpoint.”

Another post said: “I’m here…hating Ben’s hideous noises!!! #tippingpoint” and a third post was “Is that what he’s doing with the Arrrgghhs ???”

Jon wrote: “Michelle will be hearing Bens groans after the show #tippingpoint”, as fans of the show picked up on the noises being made by Ben.

Ken made a great start in his attempt of beating the Tipping Point, he had close to £2,000 banked before the end of the first round. Michelle and Saleem played catch up, however Saleen was eliminated after only achieving a total of £250.

In the head-to head round Michelle and Ken battled to reach the final round and be in with a shot of winning £10,000, or the money they had built up since the beginning of the show.

The Warrington-born contestant made it through to the final round. The advantage to the finalist is multiple choice is available when answering questions, meaning more of a chance of answering the question correctly.

He answered questions on nature, music, history, food and drink, sport and film. Ken bravely attempted to answer the categories going for three counters. The more counters a contestant goes for, the more difficult the question will be.

With close to £4,000 already banked, Ken avoided making the difficult decision of gambling his money. The winning counter tipped as he put the coins in from his last category, meaning he walks away with £10,000.
