Coronation Street’s Vicky Myers has shared a “thank you” message to fans as she shared a personal update. The 49-year-old actress has portrayed D.S Lisa Swain on the iconic cobbles since 2021. She has been at the heart of the drama on the ITV soap in recent weeks as fans were overjoyed to see the police detective finally propose to her partner Carla Connor.
Fans have fallen in love with the couple, nicknaming them “Swarla”. Carla and Lisa have recently purchased a house on Coronation Street, making history as the first same-sex couple to do so.
However, the couple’s proposal bubble didn’t last long as they were shocked by the arrival of Lisa’s ex Becky Swain, who supposedly died four years ago. Lisa had the shock of a lifetime when the wife she thought had been killed turned up in her living room.
Coronation Street fans weren’t happy with the arrival of Becky, who is set to shake things up in Lisa and Carla’s love bubble. Away from the screen, actress Vicky Myers has updated her fans on a personal update away from the cobbles.

Corrie fans are excited to see Alison King (Carla Connor) and Vicky Myers (Lisa Swain), who have been nicknamed “Swarla”, up for the award for Best Partnership.
Taking to social media after the announcement, one “Swarla” fan said: “Yaaassss, please! So much dedication, authenticity, and passion for their characters, chemistry, and storyline!”
A second said: “Everything crossed for them to win.” A third wrote: “These two amazing actresses deserve this so much their acting is insane! Go Swarla xx.”

Vicky Myers is also in the running for Best Actress, opposite her co-star Jack P Shepherd in the Best Actor category. The soap star took to social media to respond to the exciting news.

The drama is set to continue for Lisa Swain in the coming weeks. Spoilers have confirmed Becky Swain is set to stay in Weatherfield and is keen to create a void between Lisa and Carla.
According to next week’s spoilers, Betsy announces that Becky’s coming for lunch and Carla forces a smile. But when Becky tries to steal a forkful of Lisa’s food off her plate, Carla’s discomfort is evident.
Becky asserts she just wants some normality. Losing her temper, Carla tells her it’s quite obvious what she wants and it’s not normality. Telling Lisa and Becky they’re deluded, Carla walks out. She calls at the station and confides in Kit that she doesn’t believe Becky’s story and thinks there’s more to it.
