Charlotte Jordan is renowned for her role as Daisy Midgeley in Coronation Street

Coronation Street’s Charlotte Jordan thrilled fans as she shared the latest updates from her life. The soap star is renowned for her role as Daisy Midgeley on the Cobbles.

The character has been at the centre of the action as she was hit by a car at the start of the month. The incident is expected to be the start of Daisy’s exit storyline as Charlotte has confirmed she is leaving the Corrie cast this year.

A statement from ITV shared with the ECHO said: “The producers fully understand Charlotte’s desire to explore other projects, she is a talented ambitious actress”.

The spokesperson added that Charlotte gave the show “plenty of time for the producer and writing team to devise a dramatic exit storyline which has already started to play out on screen. She will be on screen until early summer.”

Charlotte has become one of the most popular stars on the show since she arrived on screens in 2020. Daisy soon got a job behind the bar at the Rovers Return and she has been involved in some of the show’s most important storylines.

The 29-year-old is active on her social media channels and has built up a large following on Instagram. She has taken to the platform to post a series of snaps from her life lately as she captioned the post: “Camera roll clear out.”

Alice said: “So gorgeous.” Maggie added: “Stunning” Katie took to the comments and added: “This is fantastic.” Nicole said: “live for your posts.”

Charlotte regularly shares updates with her adorable pet dog Olive. However, fans spotted how the French bulldog didn’t make the cut this time around.

Vicky said: “a photo dump without a SINGLE pic of olive? do better.” Amy commented: “WHERE IS OLIVE !! Xx” Charlotte has developed a close bond with her co-stars throughout her stint on Corrie.

Julia Goulding, who plays Shona Platt, told the ECHO and other press she is sad to see her leave the show. She said: “And Charlie, don’t even get me started. I’m furious with her for leaving. I’m losing all of my mates.”

Paddy Bever, Colson Smith and Sue Cleaver are some of the other cast members who have confirmed to be departing Coronation Street this year. However, it wasn’t all bad news for Julia though as she is thrilled to welcome her long-time friend, Farrel Hegarty, to the cast.

The newcomer arrived on the show last month as “nightmare neighbour”, Lou Michaelis, and Julia said she has quickly settled behind the scenes. She added: “We’ve known each other for 20 years. It’s wonderful having her here. I’ve not done any scenes with her, but I did ask [show boss] Kate [Brooks] if we possibly could at some point. She’s wonderful and is perfect for Corrie.”
